Title: fave SAL moment
Post by Deathgod on Jun 2nd, 2008 at 8:46pm
mine has to be just prior to the boys getting on stage.
The band are in a lift, you can hear Bill Clinton crapping on onstage

that shot of Keef just blew me away

i turned to my mate and almost yelped as i said ' he is the king of farking cool'

to me it was one of the highlights of the film
with the madness around them, Keef just exuded this cool which no-on on the planet can match.

fark i love this band

Keith handing a bemused Buddy Guy his guitar and then the sight of the old bluesman just waddling off the stage. Priceless.  :)

Two stick out

Buddy's stare (one of the few lingering shots in a film with too many rapid jump cuts)

Keith showing his age and fragility by looking like he's about to collapse at the end, and then a second later cracking a smile and snapping back to attention as if he's indestructible.

To these I would add Mick during Shattered.  His performance on that song is hilariously awesome.

There were many hilites. However I thought the Keef at the end "exhausted" was a put on.Champagne was incredible as was Faraway Eyes.Cant help but love the ending shot zooming out of the band leaving the back door past Marty and the NYC skylites and the famous shot in the sky off to the right burning bright! (trying not to ruin it for those who havent seen it yet)

To me that was the best, The Blues being played with Buddy & The Stones are when they really shine.

the Mick and Keef duet on Far Away Eyes was a nice moment (and something which they should do more often than every 30 years or so) but the performance of the song itself (or rather Mick's vocal) was the lowpoint of the film for me.

Like everyone already said, Champagne and Reefer and Keith at the end were my favorite parts. I also loved the Mick going wild and Keith Playing his solo on one knee during Sympathy. Also no one mentioned You got the Silver, which I thought was excellent. Keef just looked so Godly and mysterious while singing with smoke all around him. And it showed the love he has for Ronnie. Only thing that ruined it was Blondie playing guitar in the shadow. :(

that was very cool.  i agree.  i thought for a moment the whole flick was going to be regular theater size on a huge imax screen.

but to answer the question....my favorite parts were the interviews before they went into just my imagination and the jmi song.

Jack White Rocked you bastard! :)

If it sounded bad it certainly wasn't Jack's fault. ;)
