Branko So, am i the only one that thinks that country honk might be better. The fiddle, the hick drawl jagger puts on, the whole feel is so gritty and dirty, fuck its so authentic i love it. Anyone else feeling this?

gypsy It all depends on my mood. I kind of prefer Country Honk too. I also like the rawness and grittiness of it. But I also like Honky Tonk Woman on Love You Live and Handsome Girls due to the long gritty guitar intro.

Zack ...with similar lyrics.

TReally, there is no comparison. One is a breezy, charming country dittty, and the other is among the greatest singles of all time. As Jagger said as he staggered out of the studio in the wee hours "we done made a number one tonight."

My favorite aspect of the studio HTW is time between the phrases. Like Miles Davis said: what you don't play is just as important as what you do play.

Nellcote How fortunate that we HAVE two released versions!
One, a classic rock anthem, another brings a Tennessee porch, rockin chair, sultry swing.
Would'nt it be a gas to have the working title songs
released in those versions, aside of the finished product?
IE: Everybody Pays Their Dues=Street Fighting Man

Dreams, which probably are all they are...

Factory Girl I prefer the twang of Country Honk. I love HTW, but its been overplayed & overexposed at this point.

the good Honky Tonk Women by a country mile. Greatest guitar intro in the history of rock.

Soldatti Honky Tonk Women.
Country Honk it's nice but I'm not a big fan of this version.
