I hope Ronnie can achieve permanent sobriety to save his life AND repair family relationships that have been damaged.  My wish it that he resigns from the Stones and they accept his resignation with regret and affection.  He has much more to live for than another tour.

Right on Ginda, I agree, to be honest being a old Stones fan, I've never accepted him as a Rolling Stone, he always seemed to come across as a guy who always wanted to be a rock star & be in the Rolling Stones, now fans who grew up in the late 70's, etc wouldn't see that, because that's the only version of the Stones they know, I mean Ronnie is just like Keef's kid brother.

Even though he's a knob, I am a big fan of his solo stuff but sorry Sweetness was just lame. It just sounds like reggae for the sake of reggae and the lyrics, oh God.

Ronnie Wood's sister-in-law forced to live on boat as he sells her home for ex-wife Jo's divorce settlement
By JO MACFARLANE
Last updated at 11:30 PM on 5th June 2010

Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood's divorce battle has forced a close family member out of the home she has lived in for nearly 20 years.
Angela Wood has been asked by the Rolling Stones' management team to move out of the house she shared with her late husband, Ronnie's older brother Art, so it can be put on the market to help pay the divorce settlement for Ronnie's former wife Jo Wood.
The £600,000 semi-detached property, in Teddington, South-West London, was bought by Ronnie for Art and Angela when they married in 1991, and the couple were allowed to live in it rent-free.

...
Ordered out: Angela Wood (left) must leave the London home (right) she shared with Ronnie Wood's late brother Art
When Art died in 2006 of prostate cancer, Ronnie pledged to look after his sister-in-law in any way he could.
However, friends of the family say former model Jo - who appeared on the last series of Strictly Come Dancing - wants half of everything the couple own, which means liquidating all of their joint assets, including the house in Teddington.
Graphic designer Angela was called by the Rolling Stones' management shortly before Christmas and told she had until August to leave the property. She is now set to move to a rented houseboat on the River Thames with her new partner, builder Dean Callow.
A family friend, who did not want to be named, said Angela had been left 'devastated'. 'Jo is basically after half of everything Ronnie has,' said the friend. 'It's rubbish that she's only getting £6.5million from the divorce.
'Ronnie's being forced to sell everything so Jo gets her half, and that includes the house he bought for Art and Angi in Teddington.
'Ronnie felt so bad about it that he got Sherry Daly from the Stones' office to call her and tell her. He's so embarrassed by the whole thing and can't bear to speak to her.

...
Financial fallout: Ronnie and Jo before they split up over his affair with Russian waitress Ekaterina Ivanova
'Ronnie tried to suggest that Angi bought Jo's half of the house, but she can't afford that.
'Angi is very sweet and relaxed and she rolled over and accepted it. She knew Ronnie had been very good to her and in some ways it's good for her to move on at last.
'But secretly, she's devastated that she's having to leave the house she shared with Art, although she wouldn't say so.
'There's no bad blood there but Ronnie hasn't spoken to her since.'
Guitarist Wood left Jo, his wife of 24 years, in 2008 for Russian cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova, then 19.
The pair had a fiery relationship and, after one particularly intense row, Ronnie was arrested after reports he had assaulted his lover in the street.
Jo was granted a divorce last year and it was reported that she had agreed to accept £6.5million in a settlement which involved selling the couple's £6million waterfront townhouse in Chelsea's Cheyne Walk. The couple also own properties in Kingston, South-West London, and County Kildare in Ireland.

...
New romance: Ronnie enjoys a night out with his Brazilian girlfriend Ana Araujo last week
The family friend said Ronnie was hugely upset by the developments: 'Ronnie lost four people in just five years who were very close to him. He lost both brothers, Art and Ted, his mother Lizzie and then his first wife Krissy.
'Everyone saw him going off the rails again but it's all connected.
'Angi and Art had a very good marriage, and she was very close to Ronnie. He was really good to her and that's what is so sad about this.
'Everyone will ask why doesn't Ronnie buy her out, but the truth is that he can't as his investments are all tied up.'
Jo is reportedly now in a relationship with flamboyant designer Christopher Wicks, while Ronnie is seeing Brazilian polo coach Ana Araujo.
A spokesman for Ronnie Wood said he had no comment to make.
Speaking from the Teddington home, Angela Wood said: 'It's true I'm leaving the house but it's my own choice. I don't want to comment on Ronnie's divorce.'
A spokeswoman for Jo Wood declined to comment, but a source said: 'The fact that Angi has been asked to move out of her home is a big surprise to both Jo and her side of the family. She was a bit shocked actually because she doesn't know the details.'

If Ronnie bought the house for Art he should have put it in Art's name.  And then... Ronnie was "so upset" he couldn't even make the call to break the news himself???   If this story is true it really is another Bozo moment.

If the quote from this article is true, seems like he could still do something for her.
Even if his assets are tied up, I'm guessing that he still gets an "allowance" that could provide a more comfortable place for her than a boat.

Am I missing something here?

I feel bad for the sister-in-law, seems like she got screwed out of her house. If it was a gift to her & Art, they should of transferred it into their names and no rights could be claimed by Jo or Ronnie at this point. An oversight or calculated mistake on Ronnie's part, but either way I dont think Ronnie is happy with the outcome if he didnt have the courage to tell her himself. Ronnie must feel like an ass, once again, paying for his mistakes and the fallout from family who already must hate him for his foolish behavior. Ah well on the other hand she did live rent free for 20 years so Ronnie should get some credit for that too.

Most of us in our 50's have our own houses and don't need hand outs. And if Jo had any feelings for her I doubt the house would be an issue.

He talked about his forthcoming album on today's radio show, and played an "unmastered" version of 'I Got A Thing About You'.
Billy Gibbons, Steve Ferrone and Bernard Fowler are on the track.

Weird thing is that this show isn't archived.
Went to listen again and there's a different Show 10...  Huh

Led Zep's Plant to rock out Olympia

Wednesday July 07 2010

FORMER Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is set to play an intimate live concert in Dublin this year.

The Diary can exclusively reveal how the rock legend is set to jet into town on November 1 to perform a rare gig at the Olympia Theatre.

The British music icon will be joined on stage by his new group, The Band Of Joy, which features singer Patty Griffin, Darrell Scott, Byron House, Marco Giovino and Nashville producer and guitarist Buddy Miller in the line-up.

Insiders have revealed how Plant is also planning to catch up with his old pal Ronnie Wood during his visit to Dublin. The Rolling Stone singer is a regular on Irish shores, given that he has a home in Co Kildare.

The pair are even rumoured to be in talks about collaborating together on a single.
Speaking about his forthcoming tour, Plant said: "It's been a remarkable change of direction for all of us and as a group we all seem to have developed a new groove.

"It's been a blast working on these new songs and I'm enjoying such creativity and vitality," he added.

The Led Zeppelin icon has also signed up to play four gigs in the UK during September and October, which are timed to coincide with the release of his latest Americana-styled album, Band Of Joy, on September 13. Ticket prices for his Dublin gig will start at €55 including booking fee and will go on sale this Friday at 9am.

Concert promoters MCD are expecting seats for the one-off event to sell out in record time.
