Well .... doesn't take persuation to think they certainly have amassed a load of new material by now .. They have been working on this thing since before Blue and Lonesome (bless it's heart) came about.

As we all know and have heard .. they are in NYC (whole outfit) recording again now. This album has been from London to LA to Jamaica to New York (and through their home studios) in seven years time now. Here's to hoping we get one last masterwork.

that would indicate, to me at least, that they are adding final touches to already recorded tracks....

to release as a new live album or a mix of live and greatest hits, etc....

What you call pessimisim is what I call being obstinate beyond belief, my friend. The entire band ... Mick, Keith, Ronnie, Steve Jordan .. Clifford .. their families etc would never be all in one place and traveling accross the pond for simply doing overdubs for anything.

The entire recording clan (.. and their families btw) doesn't purposefully travel to the same city and / or the same studio at the same time for 'overdubbing' or overdubbing for a "live album" or for the purpose of doing overdubs on anything. Doesn't work that way with The Stones (or any act) .. You easily know that, Gazza! Roll Eyes

... Now .. I'm not saying no overdubs will / can take place but the pupose of assembling everyone together at the same time, same city, same studio etc ... isn't for overdubbing sessions for a live or greatest hits thing (or for simply overdubbing on anything?). It would be for ... 'recording'.

Annnnnyway ... being as you darn well know this as well as any music maniac over the decades .. I am with you in the fact that here is to hoping what they actually record or lay down is plenty productive and of quite high quality for an album.

My educated guess is that a major part of this is the material / songs they worked on / wrote pre-production etc with Jordan and Clifford in Jamaica has come to fruition for recording them.

Here is to hoping it is good stuff. Will be very .... VERY interesting to hear new material written or worked up with Steve Jordan (as oppossed and yet 'as well' as our blessed Charlie Watts .. Last we heard they have a lots of material with him they were using or were thinking about using).

I agree .. lot's of man hours .. lots of locations too .. etc. We have heard from a credible source as of a couple years ago they had up to five seperate versions for several songs they were deciding / working on.

I can wait until Spring .. provided .. it is of great quality.

It will not make A Christman release time frame Nor do I want one .. that was a special B & L type thing. The Stones aren't Paul Simon or Neil Diamond .. 'YET' Lol
