I dont think its remotely amazing that theyre so slow.
The pricing for most of the tickets is probably higher than for any other stadium rock show in UK history.
And they have 8 shows to sell. Most of them midweek dates. Insane to do that many in a small, densely populated country of 60 million people. At under 3 months notice. And with almost half a million tickets available. The logistics behind the Dublin sales were even more insane (Thursday night, only 7 weeks notice, 82000 tickets, small island of 6 million people, hotels almost impossible to get as Ed Sheeran is playing 3 shows there the same week to almost 200,000 people)
Translate that business model to the US, and imagine trying to sell 40 stadium shows and two and a half million tickets.
Doable back in the 90s when prices were normal (and they did manage to achieve it). Idiocy to try and do so now.
