OFF TOPIC but related...

WHEN...oh WHEN...will The have another ROLLING STONES channel on Sirius XM?
A permanent one I mean...not just a temporary one like in 2005/6.

The BEATLES Channel just starts next  week and it sounds great so far on the promos...I loved The Stones channel back then and now with so many official released shows...there is a treasure trove of materials

The Beatles Channel now joins The Grateful Dead...Springsteen...Tom Petty...Dylan...Elvis...Pearl Jam...Jimmy Buffett...Ozzy...who have dedicate or related channels named for them...The Stones surely can broker a deal for a standing channel

Now back to NO FILTER...

Perhaps the Klein dynasty is making this difficult.......

Excellent point Edith...but easy enough IMO to not play the ABKCO stuff...The program director can see to that...but the old stuff is already played on other Sirius channels...
I dont know...Klien has rights to the music...not the Name...who knows...

The Rolling Stones can't play UK due to 'lack of available venues'

http://www.sundayworld.com/entertainment/music/the-rolling-stones-can-t-play-uk-...

London is wide open.

SG is correct...Wembly Stadium...OPEN...Arena (though Small) OPEN...O2...OPEN...The Intimate Royal Albert Hall is busy...but is open to a point.

Maybe I dont know the venues well enuff in/around London...but there it is...

There are several large sports stadiums in London - all of which have staged major concerts in recent years - Wembley and  Twickenham (rugby stadium) are the biggest and hold over 90,000 and 80,000 respectively.  There's also the London Stadium (the venue for the 2012 Olympics) which has been reduced in capacity but still holds about 65,000 and is now used for home games for West Ham United.  And the Emirates Stadium (Arsenal FC) which holds over 60,000.  And there's also parks such as Hyde Park which get used for several gigs every year.

Football stadiums that are used by club sides pretty much rule those venues out from August onwards. The weather also makes it a non starter once you get into the autumn.  However, Wembley has a roof and could be used anytime (likewise with the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff)

There is a stumbling block with Wembley at the minute though. Tottenham Hotspur are getting a new stadium constructed so will be playing their home games for the 2017-2018 season at Wembley.  So, between August 2017 and May 2018 instead of being used for maybe 8-10 sporting events, the stadium will probably host about 40 games instead. Cant see the FA and Tottenham being  too enthusiastic about letting the pitch be used for concerts in the middle of all that.

They could easily have staged a couple of shows at the 02.

Or even remembered that the UK does exist outside of London and played there.

The story going around is that they got a tax break by deferring the UK dates until the next financial year.

In re. No Filter...
I dreamerized last night of an album cover - lovelier than Some Grrrls' - decorated with loads of the funniest yet dodgiest, fugliest and least photoshopped old snaps of the Stoonz... Brian ripped to the tits on Dubonnet and anti-depressants, Charlie having a slash in a kitchen sink, Keith snoring, Ron with a crack-pipe up his arse, & so forth.

Happy days.

Anyway... Here is further footage of M & K reflecting on their Edith Groove days...

YAY! I'm in for all 3 Paris shows ~ all Lucky Dips! Now I have to work overtime for the next 5 months to pay for the rest of it. Egon, can you recommend a decent yet cheap hotel? Preferably in the Soho area (if there is one), or the cool part of the city like "the village", somewhere good to hang out. I read on IORR the venue area sucks. THANKS for any advice!

I'm thinking about the meaning of the No Filter tour name. It reminds me of back in the day when cigarettes were sold without filters. The smoke was very raw. So No Filter may symbolize the music will be very raw and unfiltered, possibly unplugged style or just the opposite, a more electric style with no filters meaning cutting down on the gimmicks and extras.
