Mick Taylor - mixed too low on IORR?

Does anyone else find that Mick Taylor is mixed rather low on the songs he plays on on IORR? For example, Dance Little Sister. He plays an awesome lead to play off Keith's rhythm but it's pretty much buried in the mix except for his solo.

Nope. Never had a problem with it. I think it all sounds fine.

You could clarify which release of the album you are talking about, as there have been several.

Mix of Time Waits for No One could be better overall.  Compare Can't You Hear Me Knocking for clarity of all instruments.  Go big or go home, as they say.

Fair point:

-Original/early CD version from 1986
-1994, remastered and reissued by Virgin Records
-2009 by Universal Music,
-2011 by Universal Music Enterprises

Maybe once again in some box set or Japan-Only versions as well...

I myself was thinking of Time Waits for No One on the original RSR 1974 vinyl release.  While Taylor's at adequate levels there, listen to how the piano disappears and reappears over and over again in the mix during the long instrumental closing, like a small craft in great waves.  Not exactly Jimmy Miller-like clarity.

True, they'd improved.  But one of the hangovers is reusing previously recorded tapes, which you can hear on both Angie and Time Waits for No One.  And, yes, there are many good masterings on IORR, Till the Next Goodbye and If You Really Want to be My Friend among them.

However - I rather like the murk of Goats Head Soup, on original 1973 RSR vinyl.
