But the attraction of money being what it is, they'd have put principles aside and reformed for a lucrative 'comeback tour' a decade later with a new drummer.

I frankly can't imagine anyone replacing Charlie but I suppose that if he had quit the band before A Bigger Bang, then they would have replaced him. However, after that, it probably would've been the nail in the coffin for the "official" Rolling Stones, except for reunion tours starting in the later 2000s. Just my opinion so I could be wrong. If I should find myself in an alternate reality where Charlie did leave the Stones at some point, I'll try to make it back here to let you guys know how it went.
