This is Rocks Off the one and only "Charlie Watts Message Board" once in a while

Well, Simon Kirke is the only one who has replaced Charlie with the Stones, he is alive and plays like a bastard

Mick Fleetwood is another one

But no Charlie no Stones

I actually thought about this; and think that of big names Steve Jordan or Jim Keltner would be good.
Glenn Kotche is a great drummer. From Wilco.
I'd think that one would have to look for a Country/Gospel type drummer.
Don Lindley or Jim Christie played drums for Lucinda Williams in late 90's.

The very thought of replacing Charlie is anathema, but I suspect that if it had happened at the time Wyman left, Steve Jordan would have been tapped.  However...I also suspect that Charlie wouldn't have stayed gone.

On the Stu tribute gig at the 100 Club in London, February 23, 1986

He is the only one who has played live with the Stones, all other were session players in the studio, he played five songs live with the Stones in front of an audience and what an audience!!

He replaced Charlie on the first 5 songs as Charlie was late!

really?

Check Gazzapedia for details, guests and setlist
