And I'm just mystified by this too. He was released from the hospital a few days ago and then died today? What the hell happened? One report that his recent medical emergency was the flu, so why was he released so quickly?

Fucking gutted. Never saw this one coming.

A true artist and maverick. Just unique.

Up there as one of the greatest live acts ever for me - and quite possibly the most naturally gifted.

Very fond memories of that night at the 02 in August 2007 - in the middle of the three Stones shows when Adrian-L, Bitch, Partydollmeg, Sweet Virginia and myself went to see one of the gigs on his 21-night run. But the real jawdropper was the after-show gig that Meg, SV and I went to at the Indigo2 next door afterwards. He jammed with his band and the rapper Common (who had been his opening act at the main show) for a couple of hours and even though he only probably sang lead on about 3 or 4 of the songs they played that night it was one of the most incredible gigs I've ever seen.

Even if a lot of his recent work could be very hit and miss, I always loved the fact that he basically marched to the beat of his own drum. There's far too few acts like that nowadays and thats another one of them gone this year already. 2016 can fuck right off.

Prince's death is a real shocker because of his age. He was so very talented, played so many instruments and he played them all so well, and I loved the way he used his voice. So sad. It was from drugs, not sure which ones exactly but when they landed his plane last week it wasn't because of the flu, it was an OD emergency. If it was just the flu, the flight was only one hour from its destination so it wouldn't have been necessary to land. He acted ok for a few days and then died in an elevator. I hope he wasnt trapped in there. This is just awful news.

Yeah Gazza I remember that night we saw the Prince concert at the O2 in London. We had a blast. I should of tried harder to get a ticket for the after party, which sold out.
