One of the cool things about the "secondary markets" is how excited the whole city gets excited about the Stones coming to town. Here's is today's coverage in the KC Star:

I called Arrowhead to double check this because Ticketmaster is so vague.  Will Call is scheduled to open at 3pm when the parking lot opens!  If you have Lucky Dips be prepared to tailgate!

SV, power is out all over the city from the storms we had last night.  Over by the stadium was hit very hard.  You might want to check with your hotel to make sure all is ok.

It's wild but I don't get it.

I dont see an arrowhead...I see either one of those modern paper sculptures being held together with a lattice type of structure...like a puzzle that separates out when you pull the sides...or i see a duck

And its another fantastic great night in The Stones world!

I'm still on cloud nine!  Our $30 Lucky Dips turned into $300 Section 118 row 8 seats!  We were on Keith's side of the stage 8 rows from the field!

I could see the guys faces!  And thank heaven we were close enough that hubby could see the jumbotron.  Even Mick on the catwalk wasn't that far away.

I had been waiting to see the Stones since I was 10 years old.  I wasn't disappointed.  Yes, Ed Sheeran on Beast of Burden wasn't the best I've ever heard, but can't complain.  Simply amazing!  The Stones are Rock N Roll.  They have influenced everyone and yet no one sounds like them.  I know I'm preaching to the choir and most of you have seen multiple shows, but I'm still gushing and squeeing like a teenager!  It's 3:30am now, show has been over for a few hours and I'm no where near to coming down.

I'm not trying to hijack a thread or ask for sympathy or anything of the kind with this.  Just to give all of you an idea of what this meant to me and my hubby.  He is seriously ill and we don't get out much.  He still does his weekly radio show, but that is about it. Had it not been for the Lucky Dip prices there is no way we could have gone.  And for those tickets to have turned out where they did is simply amazing.  I've been like a kid at Christmas for days, but he was trying to be reserved and not get all caught up in it.  To see him having as great of a time as I did and being almost overwhelmed at times by how great the Stones sounded tonight made it all the more special.

Mick said I heard you all have the world record for being the loudest fans....Arrowhead erupted and started quaking.  Mick was impressed.

The version of Gimme Shelter I heard tonight will never be topped.  That will live in my mind forever.

Beyond thrilled for you Angie. So happy that the Stonesian gods brought you the seats you deserved. Funny how you really do "get what you need" sometimes.

Glad your Lucky dips were lucky for you and hubby Angie! The Stones are magical in a way, at the very first moment you are hooked!

The Stones havent, as far as I can tell, played 'Kansas City' since 1962. Mick was correct in saying they used to open with it - it was actually the first song they ever played onstage as a band.

What was it he said just before it? Something about Ed wanting them to play another song but they didnt have time to learn it (presumably some local joke)

That was a pretty decent version too.

They seem to have a habit of doing unusual things in that city - debuting 'Sure the One You Need' there in 1975 (they only played it one other time, two days later in Milwaukee),  having Mick Taylor as a guest in 1981 - and now this.

And I think SV was at all of them....

Oh, my....what a night. This would have been a special show for me even if they had played "Miss You" 20 times. It was my 40th anniversary of seeing the Stones for the first time, also at Arrowhead in KC. And then they had to go and make it perfect by acting like it WAS 1975. Singing "Kansas City", Mick splashing us with water and then kicking his water bottle into the crowd, the band having so much freaking fun....and 4th row seats.....holy shit.

Thanks for those awesome photos SV ~ what an especially cool night for you! I got sprayed with a bottle of Champagne once by MICK, at my first Stones show, it was such a thrill getting wet with something MICK had in his mouth, lol. You were baptized with MICK's holy water, and now you are truly blessed!
