Good riddance.
He wrote a bs, factually incorrect, book defending the Warren Commission's report on the JFK assassination.
And any prosecutor who could not get convictions in the Manson case should never have been given a license to practice law.

I couldn't disagree more about Bugliosi.  That guy was a fantastic lawyer - which is much more of a rarity than most people realize.

Criminal convictions are easy to get in general.  Very easy - most prosecutors are mediocre, bottom barrel lawyers, and convictions are still 99%.  In those terms, Manson's conviction was NOT easy to get at all - first of all, he didn't even kill anyone he was charged with murdering, and wasn't even there when they were murdered.  Manson also had the most obstructive lawyers in California.  Bugliosi had to be persuasive, diligent, believable, and tenacious.  It was a fantastic performance by him.

His insights to the OJ trial, and the fact that he didn't hesitate for a second to expose Clark and Darden as the retards they were, show his principles and belief in logic, reason, and hard work.

As to the Warren Commission, usually - not always, just usually - anyone who criticizes its findings are the type of person who believe the Moon landing was faked, the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01 were an inside job, Obama forged his birth certificate, the Allies started WWII, Lazarus rose from the dead, etc.

Realize this is not the website for this discussion, but
the findings in Bugliosi's JFK book have been proven false by serious critics. There are so few defenders of the Warren Comm. that any writer who does support it can make a lot of money in appearances.
As for Manson, he was at the LaBianca scene, though outside, there were plenty of witnesses against him, and his own bizarre statements and behavior guaranteed his conviction.

ps For the board - Melvin Belli - Stones Altamont lawyer - represented Jack Ruby who killed Lee Harvey Oswald. Had him plead "insanity" which many felt was a poor strategy.

"Who killed the Kennedys?..."

Brilliant post Sirmoonie, that's the point Bugliosi was very very clever to make it possible

BTW, he (Charles Manson) actually was present at the Labianca murders before the other members finished, he tied Leno and Rosemary and then he left and the other members entered to kill them

He also was present at the Gary Hinman murder but it was Bobby Beausoleil who killed him

In college, I went to a Halloween party dressed up as Charlie Manson.  I was shrooming.  Frying hard.  I got into a fight with Devo at some point.  I never could stand that artsy, twit music.  Those Devo-ass ponces deserved to get their goddam asses kicked by Charles Manson on shrooms!

Surely you don't have to be considered a damned conspiracy theorist just because you don't agree with The Warren Commission findings. Best Evidence is probably one, just one of the decent contradictions to the Warren summation. Gerald Ford; "Yes it was done by one gunman using a Henry Mancini rifle. Magic bullets, raised seats. I should rephrase that before I cause undue offence. That is not a personal attack Moonie, just feel that the Warren Commission were under the pump to come up with a semi plausible finding when they were faced with a very difficult job. I'd be agog to hear how ALIENS? started WW2, bizzare. That must be a Jim Marrs or, David Icke job, what?

Allies, not "aliens."  There are several amongst us, here on this very Stones board, that believe the Allies (U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, U.S.S.R., and others) instigated WWII against the oppressed, persecuted Germans (a theory later adopted/espoused by Pope Luftwafftarbietmacherer Ratzinger).

You may be right about the Warren Commish.  Ruby was a Jew, Kennedy was a Catholic, the Cubans were Commies, and Oswald was a persecuted Christian.  See John 15:18 (""If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.").  Who's to say who killed who with what and why?

I'll be honest here, I was also doing shrooms when I read the Warren Commission Report, so what the hell do I know about who killed the Kennedys?

Their is not a chance of him going free if it happened today. The news coverage would be 100 times more than it was then. He'd have been convicted before the trial ever started.

Sorry Moonie. Damn! I thought I was gonna get an aliens stated WW2.

Some guy; Phil Schnider or something, he said; the Japs told the US to bomb Hiroshima, and Nagasaki as they were alien infested, and they didn't mean with terrestrial foreigners.

Did you study law by any chance?

Yeah! Dead right Moonie, and he knows a shit lot more that would not just embarrass some very influential people but, have a lot of people ready to lynch the likes of Cheney, Rumsfeld and fucking Monsanto.
And he knows why the American brass want to get Gary McKinnon in Levenworth, or is it Lebenworth? Maybe even Guantanamo. Just like Christofer Boyce. Locked up for his naturals, now he knows a lot and this country have tried to get information they don't really want to know about out of him.
