What other songs does Jagger pose with a guitar during a live show?

For the life of me, i cant recall...

That's mean!  Micky can play the guitar!  He just prefers to sing and dance!

Mick played guitar on Factory Girl at their opening night in LA back in 2013. Before the song started, I was convinced that they were going to play Moonlight Mile... after all, they rehearsed MM a lot in Burbank that year. Alas...

Moonlight Mile comes to mine, considering we're apparently getting all these 'Sticky Fingers' songs.

Have faith.

('Doom and Gloom' is a bloody good song. If they drop that, we're down to a show were the only song with a decent shot of being played which was written in the last two-thirds of their career as being 'You Got Me Bastarding Rocking' )

I must be a real cynical bastard on these boards...I am asking a serious question...I know he picks up the guitar ever so often...and his volume is turned down...but what songs does he play guitar on??

As far as MIss You goes...to me that is a song that features Charlie and Daryl Jones and until recently, Bobby Keys...with Jagger doing alot of talking...

A very under played, obscure track. .. .. ..

*In all seriousness I did actually happen to see The Rolling Stones in concert once and they did NOT play Satisfaction. This isn't a play on words ... it isn't a riddle. It is what it is. I actually saw them play a full concert and they did not include Satisfaction that evening.

Anyone wanna guess which tour or show?

They rarely played it in '78, but did at the show I saw.

They only did it as an encore in '72 (and didn't always do an encore).

Didn't play it the first time I saw them in Buffalo 1981.

Other songs Mick plays guitar on live:

When the Whip Comes Down, Miss You - '78

Sad sad sad - '90

Sister Morphine ' 97/'98

Don't Stop - '02

Jagger on Don't Stop on Licks tour was first time I'd seen someone air guitar with a guitar on their personage.  It was effective, though.  Everything Jagger does works.  He's the best.

Mick has played guitar every tour since 1975.  That year he played a strat on "Fingerprint File" and (I think) "Heartbreaker". I recall thinking he looked stupid with a guitar. As opposed to Keith, who looked like he was born with a telecaster strapped on.

In '78 he played on quite a few of the new (SG) songs.  Has played guitar on "Miss You" ever since, whether we like it or not.

In '81 he played an acoustic Ovation on "Let It Bleed" and an SG on the Some Girls songs.  (hey, is that what SG stands for?)

in '89 he played one of those awful off-brand things (I'm a vintage guitar snob)  they were playing that tour on "Sad Sad Sad" and maybe a few other SW songs.

Besides playing on Miss You every show, he's played on some cool stuff too...Sister Morphine and Moonlight Mile come to mind.

in 2005 he played slide (backed by Woody) on "Back Of My Hand".

Well then let's be OPTIMISTIC and hope in that Rehearsal pic, he's playing Sister Morphine or Moonlight Mile.

I have a feeling MM is going to be the Sticky Fingers non warhorse featured song this time around.

'81/82 - from memory, he would have played guitar on When The Whip Comes Down, Just My Imagination, Miss You. Acoustic on Waiting on a Friend, Let It Bleed.

Think he played on a few more in '78.

They didnt play it all on the No Security US Tour - they omitted 'Miss You' every night too.

And despite charging the most obscene ticket prices ever seen in the history of rock music to that point (a record theyve since topped several times over) people didnt walk out in disgust and still came back next tour in their millions.

'Miss You' was rarely played on the Licks tour either.

'Satisfaction' was barely played ten times in the decade before 1981.

Proof that the notion that they 'have' to play certain songs is utter bollocks.

I've my doubts, to be honest.  It went down like a bit of a lead balloon in '99 and they never REALLY pulled it off despite their best efforts. And both the Stones and their audience are a lot more conservative in their approach to what they're willing to try since then.

Of course, they COULD have pulled it off had they brought along the guy who played on the original and who in fact more or less wrote most of the song despite not being credited for it, but that's another matter.

'I Got The Blues' on a regular basis would be nice (I was in Hartford in '99 the night they finally dusted that one off) but again, things have changed since then - for some reason, Mick doesnt like to sing more than one ballad per show, and its usually a slot where they change things up a bit.

God, yeah.

I remember being in London for the three Voodoo Lounge Shows at Wembley Stadium in 1995. The Stones played on the Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday - three nights off, and Marianne was playing somewhere like the Astoria or Shepherds Bush Empire on the Thursday.

You'd have thought it a cert that one of them might have joined her for a song? Didnt happen. I'm not sure if it ever has. And she's never appeared on a stage with them either.
