I see Letterman retires on Wednesday, and his final musical guest still hasnt been announced - Eddie Vedder is playing on Monday and Bob Dylan on Tuesday.

I know its in New York and the Stones are in Hollywood, but it is doable for them and there have been rumours for several weeks about a TV appearance or two to promote this tour and SF reissue

Does anyone think this might be a possibility? The Stones have never played on Letterman's show and I remember being told years ago by someone who was a mutual friend of them both that there's a bit of long term 'needle' between Dave and Keith over a personal issue, so I suppose its a long shot - but the fact that theyre in the US and on the verge of a tour would make it a nice bit of self promotion.

Personally, I think Letterman's final musical guest will be Springsteen (he was the surprise closing act in 1993 when Dave did his final show with NBC).

Gazza .............. David Letterman's idol is the Legendary Johnny Carson . When Johnny officially retired on May 22nd , 1992 his last show consisted of numerous clips and highlights from the past thirty years -- no guests at all .... just Doc and Ed and family / friends in the studio audience .

Seeing that the Stones don't travel a few miles to each other's gigs sometimes, I seriously doubt any one of them will be tossed to fly to New York, especially as no one blows a marketing opportunity better than the modern day Rolling Stones.

You should post the location. It is beyond laughable that they don't allow the location to be posted on the Rockman forum. Sucking up is never a good look.

The Rolling Stones are preparing for their Zip Code Tour that kicks off at San Diego’s Petco Park May 24, and hits 15 U.S. cities.

According to a source close to The Rolling Stones, the band will do a prep show prior to hitting the road.

“The Fonda Theatre is a smaller, intimate venue and it’s the perfect place for the band and crew to take a dry-run,” said the source.

On Monday, the band will host a Twitter session, taking answers from the fans via the social media platform. There is expected to be a special announcement
