So this painting of Kieth Richards:

It's bit of a long shot I know, but does anyone have any idea of where the source photography for this piece is from?

I swear I've seen the original photograph before, but I can't for the life of me remember!!

Spent a good while on Google searching, but didn't come with anything.

Any ideas/guesses?

Reply #4 - Feb 19^th, 2015 at 6:32am I think it was based on a photoshoot for a magazine, if I remember correctly there were three shots of Keith on the spread but I can't seem to find it for the love of God. Mayyyybe from this issue? But I'm really not sure.

sorry, I should have mentioned, I know who did the painting, but I am looking for the original photo that was used as reference.

And thanks for the welcome! Been lurking around on & off for quite some time!

Reply #6 - Feb 19^th, 2015 at 8:39pm I remember uploading the photos from that edition of "Esquire" on here, Fotini - still have them on my photobucket account, although theyre not a great reproduction - while the clothing seems it is probably from the same shoot, the photo that Kruger used for his painting didnt appear in the magazine

Hmm, yeah this looks pretty close to what I had in mind, but I do seem to remember he was in the same or similar clothes and there were three pictures of him in a row together, in different poses with the guitar.
