Phoenix or Dallas....New Orleans, Detroit, Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale(Maybe Miami) and possibly Orlando or Tampa too...Atlanta, Cleveland, Baltimore and Barclay Center.

I could drive to Cleveland. Baltimore is a cheap flight for me as well. Have friends to crash with in both areas as well.. Brooklyn also a possibility.

Flights to Atlanta and NOLA are high from Buffalo.

I have been predicting that the cities would NOT be the same as 2013.

Phoenix/Dallas  being the only show in the south-west with California and the mid-west being skipped entirely seems a very bizarre schedule, if thats the case.

In theory it makes sense to do that, to satisfy demand and keep markets fresh.

However, not all markets are equal. A lot of the reasons for the cities chosen last time was probably down to them being highly populated areas with enough people wealthy enough to pay enough money to sustain one or two shows there.

For the same reason, the last European tour had a massive variety in ticket prices from one country to the next and avoided eastern Europe completely. If they return next year, you can bet its mostly going to be the same countries again.

Roadblock for The Rolling Stones to perform in Las Vegas

By Robin Leach Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 | 5:04 p.m.

...
Ronnie Wood, Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones perform at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

Those mid-June plans for a Rolling Stones concert in Las Vegas have hit a roadblock, and I’m told that unless the group changes its mind, the music legends won’t be appearing here.

Originally the British rockers led by Mick Jagger had planned to include Las Vegas as a U.S. “14 On Fire Tour” stop in their current world tour.

The date of June 13 was penciled in at the 16,800-seat MGM Grand Garden Arena, but it turns out that bookings as far away as Europe and Australia have been juggernaut sellouts — in stadiums.

So promoters and management have apparently decided that the group will only play stadiums, not concert halls or arenas.

Even though we have 40,000 seats at Sam Boyd Stadium with room for thousands more standing on the field (remember The Grateful Dead had 125,533 fans there for its final show in 1995), it appears for now that Las Vegas is in jeopardy and struck from The Stones’ current concert plans.

Robin Leach has been a journalist for more than 50 years and has spent the past 15 years giving readers the inside scoop on Las Vegas, the world’s premier platinum playground.

The above story suggests a repeat of what happened in 2005 - the Stones had originally pencilled in a pretty even mix of stadiums and arenas only for wou;d-be promoters of several arena shows to collectively shit their pants when faced with the high risk of paying the Stones millions in guarantees and then risking losing money if the show didnt sell out.

The 2005 leg of the tour ended up being almost all stadium dates as a result.

The European tour last year sold well for the simple reason that in most cases the prices were the most affordable they'd been for most ticket buyers for Stones shows in a long time. Had they chosen to do an arena tour, things would have been quite different as hardly any promoters would have touched them - thats why they pulled the plug on an arena tour of some European cities that was due to take place in October-November 2013.

Outside of a few countries in Northern Europe, a few cities in North America and some wealthy Asian markets like Tokyo or Abu Dhabi, you'll be hard pressed to find too many places where a promoter will take the risk of paying a band a guarantee of about $6-7 million a show when he has only about 15,000 - 20,000 tickets that he can sell. There's far less risk in a stadium gig (even though its more expensive to stage) because you can fit in another 30-40,000 people and make it reasonably affordable for some casual fans to attend.

Seems to me that if The Stones WANTED to play Vegas, especially with LA so close, they could put a little effort and make it some special evening and charge a premium price (it's Vegas right?) and be able to get the guarantee , guaranteed....then let a few morsels of that special evening carry on thru the rest of the tour.

I'm not loving the thought of Stadium shows but if they keep the tongue pit, that will be cool. Maybe they will play Giants Stadium in NJ again, it holds 85,000 . Barclay Center is not a Stadium, its an arena, so why play there unless its being controlled by who owns the venues.

You wouldnt get 85,000 in an all-seated gig at Giants Stadium though with a large (and possibly protruding) end stage. Maybe 55-60,000.

They can play indoor shows in some cities because there are enough people in that area willing to pay a high ticket price. New York would be the obvious example.

All conjecture at this point, anyway. An outdoor show in the desert in June sounds like a death wish for the band and audience alike. I'd be very surprised if this tour didnt feature some arena shows. They'd need to make the 'cheaper' tickets pretty cheap indeed if they're going to fill stadiums at this point as they had trouble even filling arenas last time.
