Is there any truth to this claim? Being from the great state of Minnesota, I am surprised I have never heard of this before.

Jimmy Miller, if anyone, I always thought.

David Dalton seems to think so, too.

My vote is for Jimmy Hutmaker. Jimmy Miller was Jimmy Miller - that's how he's mentioned. Always his full name. Jimmy Miller has never been called Mr. Jimmy.

Mr Jimmy is Jimmy Miller, it's also him on the drum.
Jagger told it long ago in interview (25 X 5 or something like that).

The Star Trib has run different versions of that.  I recall someone here debunked that there was ever a Minnesota connection to the song.

Gazzapedia strikes again! OK so I was wrong, now I'm going with Jimmy Miller. Is that who you think is the correct answer Gazza?

That still cracks me up.

We're standing in the pit watching them play it in Berlin almost half a century later and she turns to me and casually remarks "I was in the studio the night they recorded this........"

Just throws that little tidbit into the pot...as you do....
