You are. Both were 27. Both officially died in water. There's still some dispute about the official accounts of both deaths.

Jim also wrote a poem after Brian's death called 'Ode to LA while thinking of Brian Jones (deceased)'

There's a theory that Jim overdosed on heroin in the toilets of a Paris club, and was then brought back to his nearby apartment. The name of the club - The Rock n Roll Circus. The same name as the event where Brian gave his last public performance.

Oh, and Ziggy Stardust was also 'killed off' on this date in 1973.

(Have never really grasped why Brian's death is always commemorated as 3rd July. Every account of the night he died indicates that he died at least an hour before midnight on 2nd July).

From Brian Jones 'Final Truth' Facebook today!....We gathered evidence from a police statement from the Joan Fitzsimons file that Suki Poitier was with Brian on the night he died. She left around eight o´clock in the evening. Suki attended the Isle of Wight festival with Keith August 1969. It´s very likely they discussed Brian´s last evening. In his famous Rolling Stone interview in 1972 Keith says ´there was a party there´. He could only have learned from Tom or Suki. From Joan´s boyfriend we know that when he and Joan left at around eight in the evening Brian and Frank were heavily arguing, pointing fingers at each other and there were many people around witnessing this fall out. Immediately after the isle of Wight festival Tom got fired. That rules out Keith learning from Tom there was a party. If someone shares knowledge with you that should be kept hidden you don´t fire him. It stands to reason Keith had his information 'about a party' he told about in the 1972 Rolling Stone interview from Suki who should have been able to remember two months after that evening and tell Keith who was there at Cotchford until 8 o´clock in the evening. Suki can't tell anymore.

and Jim's poem to Brian mentions Denmark - where the Stones were playing tonight...

ODE TO LA WHILE THINKING OF BRIAN JONES, DECEASED
(Poem by Jim Morrison)
I'm a resident of a city
They've just picked me to play
the Prince of Denmark
Poor Ophelia
All those ghosts he never saw
Floating to doom
On an iron candle
Come back, brave warrior
Do the dive
On another channel
Hot buttered pool
Where's Marrakesh
Under the falls
the wild storm
where savages fell out
in late afternoon
monsters of rhythm
You've left your
Nothing
to compete w/
Silence
I hope you went out
Smiling
Like a child
Into the cool remnant
of a dream
The angel man
w/ Serpents competing
for his palms
& fingers
Finally claimed
This benevolent
Soul
Ophelia
Leaves, sodden
in silk
Chlorine
dream
mad stifled
Witness
The diving board, the plunge
The pool
You were a fighter
a damask musky muse
You were the bleached
Sun
for TV afternoon
horned-toads
maverick of a yellow spot
Look now to where it's got
You
in meat heaven
w/ the cannibals
& jews
The gardener
Found
The body, rampant, Floating
Lucky Stiff
What is this green pale stuff
You're made of
Poke holes in the goddess
Skin
Will he Stink
Carried heavenward
Thru the halls
of music
No Chance.
Requiem for a heavy
That smile
That porky satyr's
leer
has leaped upward
into the loam

The latest issue of MOJO (#250, September 2014) has a feature on Terry Rawlings' newly revised and updated book "Brian Jones : Who Killed Christopher Robin?", subtitled 'The Final Truth'

'He was definitely murdered, and there was a cover-up', he claims. 'It's not a crackpot theory, it's what happened. And no one officially seems interested. We're not talking about a cult hero like Bobby Fuller, we're talking about one of The Rolling Stones'.

Coincidentally, the same issue also contains an interview with Marianne Faithfull to coincide with the release of her new album in which he claims she knew who killed Jim Morrison (she claims her then boyfriend Jean de Breteuil visited Morrison on the night he died and dealt him a dose of heroin which killed him)
