Darren Aronofksy's "Noah" might not have earned an explicit endorsement from Pope Francis when Aronofsky and "Noah" actor Russell Crowe met the pontiff at the Vatican last week. But it won an endorsement from someone almost as revered, at least in the Who Dat Nation.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees took to his Twitter account earlier today (March 24) to send out a photo of himself and wife Brittany -- in full "Noah" regalia, no less, including fake baby and ax -- at a recent screening of the film.
"Saw @NoahMovie the other night at Cinepolis. Opens 3/28. Very intense!," Brees tweeted.
Drew Brees and wife Brittany don biblical garb for a recent screening of the epic 'Noah.' Brees tweeted out the photo this morning, along with a two-word review of the film: 'Very intense!'
He also included the hashtag #thefloodiscoming -- which suggests the endorsement might have been a paid one -- although the Breeses have dressed up for the cinema before, most notably when they donned 1920s attire to catch director Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" in 2013.
Paramount Pictures' "Noah" stars Russell Crowe as the ark-building figure, with co-stars Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Anthony Hopkins. It is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for "violence, disturbing images and brief suggestive content." It opens this Friday, March 28, in wide release.
