Mick at the London Howlin' Wolf Sessions

Alert Board Moderator about this Post!
In May 1970 Howlin' Wolf came to London to record an album for Chess with some of
England's leading rock musicians. Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman.
Ian Stewart played piano and Wolf's guitarist Hubert Sumlin was there too.

Mick Jagger was in the studio as well. Actually, in the CD's booklet Mick is seen on more pics
taken in the studio than - with the exeption of Wolf - anybody else.
Does one of you know why Mick didn't participate on the recording? Not even playing harp?
It's a great album. Other than the self-proclaimed purists I love it.
To me Chester Burnett /Howlin' Wolf was one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, of all
these fine blues-musicians who influenced the British music scene back then.

BTW here's a quote from Bonnie Raitt talking about Howlin' Wolf:

oh man, I read that quote and thought, damn, is Mick a big homo.  It bothered me so much I went back to re-read, a bit more carefully, and thankfully saw that the quote is attributed to Bonnie Rait...whew...

He had a car wreck in 1970 which severely damaged his kidneys. He had a few heart attacks too. He was on dialysis at the time of London Sessions, and he died of kidney failure in 1976.
