She Said Yeah!
Dam deedle dee dam dam
Little girl, where did you come from?
Try a little bit to make my mouth dribble
Come on baby, let's ride away in the rain

Baby you drive me crazy
Drive my poor heart hazy
Just a little bit
A little while with you
Come on baby, let's ride away in the rain

She said yeah (dam deedle dee dam dam)
She said yeah (dam deedle dee dam dam)
She said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Come on baby I want to make love to you

Well you drive me crazy (dam deedle dee dam dam)
My love is lazy (dam deedle dee dam dam)
Little miss I want to kiss
Come on baby, won't you do what I wish

She said yeah (dam deedle dee dam dam)
She said yeah (dam deedle dee dam dam)
She said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Come on baby I want to make love to you

Yeah, ow
Wooh

Well I got the feeling (dam deedle dee dam dam)
In my soul (dam deedle dee dam dam)
I'm gonna love you, you're the one I want
Come on baby, let me hear you say you love me

She said yeah (dam deedle dee dam dam)
She said yeah (dam deedle dee dam dam)
She said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Come on baby I want to make love to you

This Day in Music: February 24th
02.24.2012
Brought to you by ThisDayinMusic.com.

Born on this day:

1942, Paul Jones, singer, harmonica player, Manfred Mann
1947, Rupert Holmes, writer, producer, singer
1959, Colin Farley, Cutting Crew
1962, Michelle Shocked, singer-songwriter

1957, Buddy Holly recorded a new version of “That’ll Be the Day,” the title being taken from a phrase used by John Wayne in the film The Searchers.

1963, The Rolling Stones started a Sunday night residency at The Station Hotel, Richmond, Surrey. The Stones were paid £24 ($41) for the gig and played on the first night to 66 people.

1969, The Jimi Hendrix Experience played their last ever-British performance when they appeared at the Royal Albert Hall.

1973, Roberta Flack had her second U.S. #1 when “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” started a five-week run at the top. The song was written about U.S. singer-songwriter Don McLean. For more on “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” see today’s This Day in Music Spotlight.

1976, The Eagles Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 became the first album to be certified platinum by the R.I.A.A. New certifications represented sales of 1 million copies for albums and two million for singles.

1982, The Police won Best British Group at the first Brit Awards, held in London.

1982, Winners at the Grammy Awards included John Lennon and Yoko Ono for Album of the Year with Double Fantasy, Kim Carnes for Song of the Year with “Bette Davis Eyes,” Quincy Jones for Producer of the Year and Sheena Easton for Best New Artist.

1990, American singer-songwriter-pianist Johnnie Ray died of liver failure at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. He scored over 20 Top 40 singles between 1952 and 1960 including the 1956 U.K. #1 and U.S. #2 single “Just Walking in the Rain.” Dexys Midnight Runners’ name checked Ray in the lyrics to their 1982 hit “Come On Eileen.”

1992, Kurt Cobain married Courtney Love in Waikiki, Hawaii. The press reported that the couple were expecting a baby on Sept 10 of the same year.

2000, Carlos Santana won eight awards at the Grammy Awards. Before the Supernatural album, the guitarist had not had a Top 10 album since 1981.

2004, Estelle Axton, who helped create the legendary soul music label Stax, died in a hospital in Memphis, at age 85. Stax was home to Otis Redding, Rufus Thomas, Isaac Hayes and Booker T and the MG’s. The Stax studio, “Soulsville U.S.A.,” was second only to Motown in its production of soul hits during its 1960s heyday.

2005, Former Orange Juice singer, guitarist and producer Edwyn Collins was rushed to the hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage.

2009, The United States Mint launched a new coin featuring American composer, pianist and bandleader Duke Ellington, making him the first African-American to appear by himself on a U.S. coin.

Happy Birthday Ron "Opie" Howard 3.1.1954
...
Stones kind of conection:
Opie gets asked to join a rock and roll band and they take to practicing in the Taylors' garage. Andy isn't too concerned about it all and is happy for the boys when they get their first gig, playing at a friend's birthday party. Soon however, Opie's attitude and behavior begins to chance. The band becomes all-consuming and he is staying out late in the evenings. When he begins to fail tests and assignments at school, Andy decides the time has come to lay down the law. Aunt Bee thinks that they should ask Clara Edwards to have a chat with Opie but Andy is convinced that it will only make matters worse. Aunt Bee goes ahead anyways and Clara's talk has surprising results.
...
And Of Course
Roger Daltrey 3.1.1944
...
And the Stones Connection:
Other than the Circus and others How about this:

Lloyd Price March 9th 1933 "Mr Personality"
The Rolling Stones Connection
...
"difficult to get to the bottom of this but cool item all the same, here's what we know
issued in 1978 so 33 yrs old
record number is OWR-1104-A/B, on the silver colored back you can just make out the title of the track "Special Part Of Me" by Lloyd Price the OWR suffix of the number refers to Lloyds record company Old World Records, the record number is linked to a 1978 promo by Bowie, there are images on the web of exactly the same disc with  David Bowie image, as you can see, this one has a Mick Jagger image & certainly one that is correct for the era,
great piece for a collector or music themed restaurant/bar or even a studio"
connection googled and found on ebay

The film also featured such acts as The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Gerry and The Pacemakers,  James Brown, Billy J. On a whim I typed in Uranus and The Rolling Stones  here is what I got:
Sir William Herschel announced its discovery on March 13, 1781, expanding the known boundaries of the Solar System for the first time in modern history. Uranus was also the first planet discovered with a telescope.
...
The connection:
The Rolling Stones'
Keith Richards & Brian Jones:
"I Can't Get No Satisfaction"
Recurrence Transits
and the Mars-Uranus Conjunction

by Nick Dagan Best

Mars - Mars has an aggressive or divisive character and, among other things, represents a masculine principle (i.e. male individuals, groups of men, etc).
Uranus – Uranus has a destabilizing character, and is associated with qualities or subjects like rebellious or generally extreme behavior, inspired flashes of brilliance, very sudden changes in circumstances, and modern technology.
Conjunction – Two planets or more in a given sign can be said to be conjunct, but the term is generally used for when they are joined at the same degree, or relatively close, as it is in this article. The significations of any two or more conjunct planets are “blended” and grouped as a singular astrological force.
In early 1965, the Rolling Stones had been together for almost three years. They started off as a rhythm & blues band, playing cover versions of old standards by people like Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters - whose song Mannish Boy featured the line “like a rolling stone”, from which the group derived its name. However, on the heels of the Beatles’ international success, the Stones’ manager, Andrew Loog Oldham, was pressuring guitarist Keith Richards and singer Mick Jagger to write their own material, in the more contemporary pop style of the time.
The band’s other guitarist, Brian Jones, a talented multi-instrumentalist and “blues purist”, was desperately fighting to maintain the group’s style to its traditional format. He had been the group’s original leader, but his lack of songwriting skills and unreliable behavior on tour had gradually robbed him of his influence. With Richards and Jagger now in charge, the group was having relative success with original compositions like The Last Time, though they still had not had a number one hit in America.
Sometime during the night of May 6th/7th – during the course of an American tour - Richards woke up in his motel room in Clearwater FL with a distinctive three-note “riff” (melody) in his head. He quickly played the tune into a tape recorder he kept by his bed and then went back to sleep. The next day, he played the riff for Jagger, telling him, “The line that goes with this (tune) is ‘I can’t get no satisfaction’”. Jagger completed the lyrics within the next two days, and the soon-to-be classic song was recorded at RCA Studios in Hollywood on May 11th.
Richards had originally intended his riff to be played by horns, but wound up playing it himself on the guitar, with the use of a “fuzz” effect created by a new gadget that happened to be around. This piece of equipment was among the first of its kind, and its inclusion on the recording introduced a whole new sound for the electric guitar. Today, such gadgets are standard tools for most rock guitarists. The resulting song – (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction - was released as a single on June 4th, and hit number one on the U.S. pop charts on July 10th, remaining there for the next four weeks. The Stones had finally hit the big time in America.
Curiously, sometime during the same week of May 7-11 (most likely around the 8th), Jones fell completely from grace in the eyes of his band mates. Having already fathered a number of illegitimate children by the time he was in his early 20s, Jones was also known to be physically abusive with women.

One night after a concert, he brought a young girl back to his hotel room. When she emerged the next morning –crying, bruised and sporting two black eyes – his indignant band mates cut him off socially, even sanctioning his beating by one of their roadies for his serious offence, from which he sustained two broken ribs. Although he would remain in the group until a month before his death in 1969, Jones’ influence in the group was now completely diminished and he spent the rest of his life slowly wasting away.
