Had a nice long phone chat with Betty on Sunday. She's doing very well; keeping busy and getting out when she can. Of course she misses her Mary very very much; it's so hard for her. No Parent should ever have to bury a child. Just thought I'd share as I'm sure you all will send prayers and good thoughts Betty's way.

Shared some tears with her Mom today; she's strong and doing well but in her words "They say time makes it easier, but that's just not true." I know what she means. I miss my friend very much. The weird thing is I started working in FL and the nursing home Mary was in is right around the block, and every time I drive by I think about Mary. She did suffer but I often think she went too young. Mary's time on earth was completed six months ago, so we must accept it, like it or not. But I've often wondered, is our death pre-determined, or do we seal our own fate by the choices we make?

Death Is pre-determined,
But our Life Is a choice.......good or bad, with love or hate,
happiness or sorry,
it's ours, how we live, so choose wisely!
Sorry if this sounds preachy, but right or wrong, I believe most religions teach us to live in peace, and to forgive and not judge others to harshly, least we be judged.
We all make bad decisions, it's how we deal with these decisions and choices that make the/a difference.
I just had a friend take his life, there was nothing we could do, nothing, I'll never know why, or if we could have done something. If anything. I still believe that it was pre-determined, and nothing could have been done to stop him.

Just under three weeks ago we learned that Danny Keane, the man who saw to it that Mary made it home to New Jersey, was suffering from pancreatic cancer. Today, we learned that he has passed away. I cannot believe that Mary, Danny and Bob Jegle were each taken from us. No two men did more for Mary while she was in Florida than Danny and Bob. Without them , she would not have had a fighting chance. Danny leaves behind a wife, children and beautiful granddaughter. Please offer a prayer of thanks for what he did for our girl and send healing thoughts to his family. This is just so sad. Sad

Just want to let ya'll know that I spoke to Mary's Mom this weekend.
She's doing quite well but, of course, misses her daughter especially as the 1st anniversary of Mary's passing approaches.
Betty's nephew answered the phone; he's spending a few days with her and she continues to get lots of help from her neighbors.
Always makes me feel good to talk to Miss Betty.
