Linda, STL is so charming - I love downtown. You are lucky to live in such a delightful place as this!
This is one of THE best dining experiences (servicewise) I have ever had:
http://www.tonysstlouis.comThe staff at Tony's was only one of 2 restaurants that noticed I was left handed and re-arranged everything on the table to accommodate that little detail. That is really impressive to me. The other one was Avenues at the Peninsula in Chicago. They kept the place open an hour later just for me, too. I wondered why I was the only one there and then I noticed the hours. I felt a bit like an ass but they weren't bothered at all. There were three of them that stood off to the side with their hands behind their back ready to sweep up any crumb. That can be a bit disconcerting, but they kept it right at the level where it was not, you know? Even the restroom attendant stayed on. With the way they tripped over themselves to attend to your every need, I am surprised a warm washcloth didn't magically appear under the door of the stall when the loo flushed.
If you haven't been already, ya gotta go to Tony's.
How does this relate to this thread? Um....Brian would have liked Tony's, I am sure. Tony's probably would not have liked Brian, however. LOL!
I should attach a photo or something....
