They have been dating for five years, and now I am happy to reveal that Dan Williams is to make an honest woman of his jewellery-designer girlfriend Jade Jagger.

The 36-year-old daughter of Sir Mick will be delighted with my exclusive news that her DJ boyfriend is planning to pop the question later this year.

Jade, who has never been married but has daughters Assisi, 15, and Amba, 12, by former boyfriend Piers Jackson, has told friends that music producer Dan is ‘the love of my life’.

The couple have been on the Riviera for the Cannes launch of the Belvedere Jagger Dagger, a Jade-designed £125,000 ice pick.

Dan revealed his plans to me as Jade hosted the party, saying: ‘I’m designing a ring for Jade. I’ve decided it’s time

to ask her to marry me.’

The 33-year-old joked he would be controversially snubbing diamonds in favour of something more unusual.

‘I’ve made a special ring out of smashed milk bottles but I know she’ll be wanting the real thing. I’ll have to work on that,’ he told me.

This will be Williams’s second marriage. ‘I’ve been married before, but

I’ll do it again,’ he said. ‘Jade’s a very special woman.’

The pair met in Ibiza in 2001 where they were both living at the time, and they were friends for more than two years before eventually becoming a couple. However, their relationship was threatened when Jade was rumoured to have had ‘romantic liaisons’ with US rap star Pharrell in 2005. At the time she said: ‘I do wonder why modern society has made monogamy the one and only option. I am far too independent to be seen as some kind of married woman.’

Now, Dan is hoping Jade will make the ultimate commitment to him – and those closest to them couldn’t be happier.

‘Dan and Jade are an amazing couple. He is fantastic with her children – the girls adore him,’ a source close to Jade tells me. ‘He gets on with Mick and all of Jade’s friends.

‘Dan’s very supportive of Jade’s work. In fact, he’s been DJing at all of her recent launch parties.’

Friends are also suggesting that the couple’s relaxed lifestyle will be mirrored in their wedding celebrations. ‘They live a charming boho life between London and Ibiza. We’re guessing it

will be a very hippy wedding in Ibiza,’ I’m told.

I hope this guy knows what he's getting into....
