The Glam rock period was great, Alice Cooper band (The Original band) was probably the first in U.S.,  their 1st album came out in '69, but after the 3rd album Alice Cooper got more into the horror shock thing, Bowie was called the king (or in some circles The Queen) of Glam Rock, loved T. Rex, Marc Bolan was really talented, but never made much of a impact outside of the U.K. (he had a hit with Bang a gong, or whatever it was called, in the States)
The N.Y. Dolls were like a gang of mobster's girlfriends, they looked like (on their 1st album) harden women that would punch you right in the face.
No guests, & more then one option.

Bowie, T Rex and Slade are my three favourites out of those listed. Admittedly, I only know the hits from the latter, yet they are bloody good. Who doesn't like Cum On Feel The Noise or that Christmas song.

Never been able to get into Queen.

Bowie & Roxy

I once had a college music production class with Wally Bryson of The Raspberries. He said the scariest thing he ever saw was when they were recording in the studio next to The New York Dolls. "they dressed like that in real life!"

hahaha

“What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there,” he says. “All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.” - Keef

It looks like Bowie is the king of glam Rock, by the way this poll is going, Roxy Music was mentioned earlier, I loved that band, especially when Eno was in it, Bowie once mentioned that when he first met Eno, he was more androgynous then he was, but The Stones were the first, especially Brian, & that was in the late 60's.
