I will miss the over-priced practice (Steelers first pre-season game) to attend the Dylan show Friday.

Good for you RC!  Will you write a review of the gig for us?

xxoo,
Martha

I just checked the schedule.  I thought Dylan was on Friday, but he is playing the second day of the event on Saturday.  Good thing I checked.  Actually, it works out better for me.

It looks like it going to be a late night.  Dylan should be taking the stage around 11 PM.  Event is sold out, and post concert traffic should be a nightmare.

Last night’s, August 9,  show was at South Side Works, New American Music Union Festival, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This was a reduced setlist because it was a festival.
1. Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35
2. It Ain't Me, Babe
3. The Levee's Gonna Break
4. Spirit On The Water
5. High Water (For Charley Patton)
6. Tangled Up In Blue
7. Honest With Me
8. Beyond The Horizon
9. It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)
10. Nettie Moore
11. Summer Days
12. Ballad Of A Thin ManEncore
13. Like A Rolling Stone Apparently, during the show on the 8th, the following little event occurred – "Kimball drew the ire of the bandleader in “Summer Days” when Dylan left his keyboard to give him some face-to-face instructions, evidently about his volume level. Later, when Dylan introduced the band, he said “Stu Kimball on guitar…at least I think that’s Stu Kimball…”

I've seen Stu throw fits before and walk off the stage.  Maybe he's not gonna hang around.  We'll have to stay tuned.

Larry won't be back no more though.

I agree, Martha.

He has too much freedom performing with Phil and Friends and Levon Helm.

My satirical attempt at a Taylor-Wood-esque feud have evidently failed!  :smile Ouch!

Kimball has walked offstage before? Seriously? I'm amazed he still has a job if thats the case. He must have photos of Dylan in compromising positions or something.

Hi Meg!  I remember seeing Larry at the last 2 ballpark shows and he looked GREY.  I was actually worried about him, and then he left Bob.  Afterwards I saw him when he toured with Emmy Lou and Elvis C. and he had color back in his cheeks.  He won't go back to Bob, I'm almost certain.  Stu is a bit of a hot-head I think.  I've never seen Bob go instruct anyone during a show.  Is this moment on U-tube perchance?

Yeah it was towards the end of the show in Lincoln NE in 2006 and Stu was monkeying about with his amp getting more and more frustrated and during the song actually left the stage.  I remember it took a few minutes before Bob casually turned around to see that he was not there.  He acted unconcerned, (of course) and went on with the show.

seen him do it a couple of times. Also remember one night in Dublin in 1993 (first show of that year) when during the acoustic mini-set he used to do in those days, Bob suddenly downed his guitar and left the stage for about three minutes. Garnier sort of winged it and, after looking around in disbelief, did what amounted to a solo spot on his stand-up bass. After what seemed like an eternity as 8,000 fans wondered if the show was over, Bob returned and resumed the song without a word.

No idea what happened - maybe Bob just heard the call of nature and it was time for a temporary "abrupt end to transmission"

Larry's fine.

As Meg noted, LC's playing with both Phil Lesh & Friends and Levon Helm.
He pulled double duty on the recent Phil/Levon tour.

His wife Teresa Williams is also playing with both bands.

Ah, that's a shame, rob. Festivals aren't the ideal place for music, in my opinion. Dylan's playing in AC this Saturday if ya wanna give him another shot!
