I heard that one. That Chris Farlowe had a nice set of pipes. Didn't he? He was (is?) no Jagga, but the song, the melody, fucking rules. Best pop song from Richards/Jagger?
After the phenomenal success of my Macca appreciation thread, which reportedly sent every poster, here, who were skeptical about the smashing genius of Paul, to their local record store in search of his solo material (Lady Jane and GotToRollMe ran to the cash register with their hands full of DVD's and Beatle memorabilia; Corgi went to amazon.com to import every one of Paul's solo albums into his homeland; IanBillen slept outside the mall in order to grab the newest Ringo Starr live record) I am happy to announce a return to Stones content. Especially since one of my colleagues, at the office, is playing LOUDLY an orchestrated version of Beatles's oldies. And they may have been a terrific unit but they, and Macca, are like booze: after been exposed too much to them, one can get particularly tired. Yesterday, sunday, for instance, I had the opportunnity to drink a couple of beers. And I let the chance go by! What the fuck is wrong with me? They're putting something in the water, I'm sure. That is why you'll never catch a commie drink water, and not without good reason. Water is the source of all life. Seven tenths of this earth's surface is water. Why, you realize that seventy percent of YOU is water. And as human beings, you and I need fresh pure water to replenish our precious BODILY FLUIDS.
I also like the Arthur Brown version. I heard that there's one tune called like that, in some old recording called "Aftermath", or something. But why should I bother?
