I love the way a lot of the vocal is freeform - I mean in that each line is sung differently . The horns really are a sublime touch too

jagger's finest moment, without a doubt.
i have a friend who is not a stones freak, but loves this song....

it's one of those songs you can't expain or talk about because you don't want to sound pretentious,
but......
it's truly transcendent,
to me, it's about finding yourself losing yourself in someone else and being afraid to surrender -
but you already have.
thanks, garp -
this assessment is the best i've ever read.

It was also used poorly in Beyond The Sea, the movie bio of the late & great Bobby Drain.

that was just plain bizarre...and random.
it was so out of place it was funny.

I always thought it was "she's a lover right on time".

I always thought it was "She could never arrive on time"!

I also thought it went "I ain't in love/I ain't in luck"

hey nasty - thought it was love/luck too

tho it always sounded "delivers right on time' to me

cheers bro

It is "delivers right on time"

LET IT LOOSE
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)

Who's that woman on your arm all dressed up to do you harm
And I'm hip to what she'll do, give her just about a month or two.
Bit off more than I can chew and I knew what it was leading to,
Some things, well, I can't refuse,
One of them, one of them the bedroom blues.
She delivers right on time, I can't resist a corny line,
But take the shine right off you shoes,
Carryin', carryin' the bedroom blues.
Oo...

In the bar you're getting drunk, I ain't in love, I ain't in luck.
Hide the switch and shut the light, let it all come down tonight.
Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger,
Some face you'll never see no more.

Let it all come down tonight.
Keep those tears hid out of sight, let it loose, let it all come down.

There are no words to describe Let it Loose.

I wish they could perform it live, but it deserves a really laid-back approach, no back-up chaos, and I'm not sure they'd do it that way.

It really is a fantastic song. Very well could be the crown jewel of Exile. But, doggone it all, that is one incredible album. I mean, REALLY. Just gem after gem after gem.... You rock! :charliesgoodtonite

hey corgi as you see i agree with you on tis one still i am always wary of some - body elses idea of what the lyrics are and just because they've made it into print it doesn't necessarily mean they are correct...i mean, i doubt mick and keith proof read any stones stuff published  featuring the lyrics and of course anything you find on the net is even less reliable

i'm quite sure that the sleeve notes say Miller plays drums on SAL yes, but lots of different musicians were playing different instruments on Exile, e.g. Keith bass on Casino Boogie and Mick Taylor bass on Tumbling Dice(i think) not to mention Amyl Nitrate playing the marimbas on something
