Lola vs. Powerman & the Moneygoround.  Never even listed in the top five Kinks albums, much less among the greatest albums ever, which it is.  I hate it when critics call it (or any album) "uneven."

I agree with LZ III, but I have to say Goats Head Soup and It's Only Rock 'n Roll are two grossly overrated records.

Ten years ago I might have agreed with you about GHS. Now I've come to appreciate it alot more. Part of that has come from intellectual intercourse with Stones fans on the net over the last several years. Posters pointing out things that I had overlooked and such. And going back and giving it a "new" listen. There's some GREAT stuff on that record.

Emotional Rescue does more before 9am than most albums do all day long.

Stones?  'Dirty Work'--a masterpiece

anyone else? 'From Elvis In Memphis'--another masterpiece

also, Pink Floyd's 'Animals' comes to mind as criminally underrated

This is one, for sure.  Been playing this for over 20 years, and listed to it 3 times today at work.  Its as fine as any Marley album.  Till Your Well Runs Dry has the nicest guitar I've heard on a reggae album, and Ketchy Shuby may be the coolest reggae vibe ever.  Peter Tosh was a goddam fucking musical genius.

Tosh: "Goats love to play with it" finishes off the title track - WTF?  too funny!

Cheers, Zackmon.  Hadn't listened to that in years, playing it now.  Has that wonderful Kinks sound and style - Super Fine!
