ABKCO have let so many ships sail by in the last few years, they should launch their own fucking fleet!

the box set contains 4 versions of the same 9-track album. Oh, and theres a HTW/YCAGWYW single thrown in too.

Fucking brilliant, eh?

Easy, they don't have the tapes of the sessions, only the takes of the released versions and the Stones have them but they don't have the rights to use them. The Stones hate ABKCO

Can you explain that? I assume you mean that the Stones can only release them if theyre distributed by ABKCO? And that they wont because of a dispute over publishing rights? I find it very complicated.

I'm not so sure the Stones hate ABKCO THAT much. They compromised with them when they released 'Forty Licks' and I guess they had 7 and a half million reasons to ease the trauma caused by shaking hands with the devil

And theyve collaborated on the reissue of YaYas and the Rock n Roll Circus releases, both of which contained previously unreleased performances.

Its pretty pathetic that this is going on now for 50 years. If they dont resolve it soon, there'll simply be nobody left to care.

Its weird that they would do a mono mix in late 1969. I thought stereo came in in 1968 (in the US) and in the UK a few months later elsewhere

(I know that the Beatles White Album (November '68) never had a mono release in the US (until last years box set) whereas elsewhere there were mono and stereo versions. 'Abbey Road' (Sep 1969 - two months before Let It Bleed) was ONLY released as a stereo album.

I''d imagine the 'mono' version of 'Let It Bleed' may just be a 'fold down' mono (ie two stereo channels combined)
