Wondering whether is really a worthy case or a scam.
Arrangements should be made for disabled people at events.
But....

This guy was a former judge so he knows the legal system.
He's retired at 60.
Doesn't use a wheelchair, but a walker.
Hurt on ice in front of his OWN HOME. Ever hear of rock salt?
All these years and he wants to see the Stones now?
Wants cheap tickets in a good location plus additional area shows for he and his wife.
Contacts the press to publicize his demands and takes the issue to court.

Sorry, I'm not buying. Send him a dvd.

It's trickier (and trinklier)  than he thinks.

When Dame Edna organised a large Prostate Rally in Hyde Park it had to be cancelled because of the exorbitant cost of additional toilet facilities.

I don't blame the guy, all things being equal.

I can see some The Big Lebowski references in all of this.

Any discount for mentally-disabled fans here?

This could be a can of worms if it takes off.

You can't put accessible seating up in the rafters in case of quick evacuations if needed.
So how do you accommodate someone who can't afford premium seating, which almost always has to be located in the high-dollar areas?
I suppose some kind of system would have to be developed.

I can only speak of how things are done in the U.S., but how many times has someone with proper credentials been spotted pulling into a "handicapped" parking space, only to jump out of his/her car and run into the building?
A good friend of mine is truly handicapped and deals with this situation frequently.
Seems that in some States it does't take much for a physician to sign off on a handicap pass, regardless of whether a patient is truly justified to have this type of privilege.

How this system would work in the entertainment industry I don't know, but I'd damn sure be pissed if knowing the guy in front of me who just ran to the bar during Miss You was gaming the system.

Agreed...but where would this stop?

I read this on the subway the day it came out (last Friday) and thought...My god...how many lame RS song references can they place in a single article...

Short people to the front?
Wear glasses and dont want to risk breaking them?
To the front...Too out of shape to climb the steps...Lower Level for you... Super-Fan? Golden Circle...

I know these are silly scenarios...but I think the ticketmater disclaimer says it all, “venues are solely responsible for establishing their own accessible seating ticket policies.” Just like the ones that say not responsible for being hit by pucks, balls, javelin's engine parts, horse shit, etc

Why should the disabled seating cost so much?  Not every disabled person can afford that much, compared with $125 nosebleed seats that they can afford but can't access.  And the guy has a point about the aging fanbase.

Not so much an update as it is a re-hash of the original...but this is from the TM website for the show at MetLife:

Ticketmaster, on behalf of its clients, strives to make it as easy as possible to purchase accessible seating tickets for venues across the country. Most venues offer accessible seating areas to accommodate their guests. Availability and type of accessible seating tickets will vary based on each venue's policies and/or the type of event taking place. Note: Venues are solely responsible for establishing their own accessible seating ticket policies. Some venues sell all or a portion of their accessible seating tickets only through their box office and not through Ticketmaster.

Please call 1-800-745-3000 to order your tickets by phone.
