the first rumblings that something is brewing :

Mile High Stadium, Denver on 3rd November (thanks to Keith Ramsey)

https://youtu.be/n-LTQejlpCI
Seems an odd choice for a spring concert though - isnt it a bit er...bloody cold in Denver around then?

Personally, I'd be surprised if theres any official announcement before the new year going by the way theyve done this in recent years but time will tell

The official elevation of Denver is 5280 feet, exactly one mile.

I'd advise the Stones to schedule an extra day or two of rest before this show.

Look for something like this:

1) Banners appearing on most or all of the Stones stadiums shortly

2) Announcement of a pre-Christmas sale of a LIMITED number of tickets
at each venue, just in time for gift giving. This will sell out of course.

3) The rest of the tickets will be held back for "normal" release in Feb,
after Jagger's Super Bowl appearance with Maroon 5

(as I write this I'm listening to Just My Imagination. The Tempts version)

I think this pretty much confirms that the new album will be released. My suspicion is that if things go well, the tour will bleed into the summer after a few months off. Perhaps South America and Europe.

Found this from our buddies at IORR- see below

That the album looks like it will be finished in time for a 2019 release. That the label thinks they have at least three tracks to push prior to the release. That the plan for now is a ticket bundle deal for the proposed North American tour.

What's this?

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have been slogging away in a New York studio working on an EP."

In order for a release to be considered an EP, it must meet one of the following two requirements:
The release has a total of one to three (1-3) tracks, one or more of the tracks is/are 10 minutes or longer and entire release is less than 30 minutes.
The release has a total of four to six (4-6) tracks and the entire release is less than 30 minutes.
If your release meets the above requirements and you do not have "- EP" in the title of your album, iTunes will automatically insert "- EP" in the title when delivering your album to the store.

SO have we narrowed down the timeframe starting in April, May and ending in late June or early July? Last year they ended July 4 in Warsaw and the first show was Dublin in early May.  Looks like the same pattern developing.

Title: Re: North American Tour spring 2019 ....
Post by Gazza on Nov 11th, 2018 at 12:52pm
Dublin was May 17.

You cant play European stadiums any earlier than that due to weather and the unavailability of the venues.

Less of an issue in most parts of the US.

mid-April into June seems most likely at this point.  With the tour starting somewhere where a group of 70-somethings playing outdoors is unlikely to result in hypothermia.

Anyone keeping track on tongue sightings??

Seems to be quite a few which would suggest maybe they'll do a two-part tour as they did in Europe in 2017-18.

Jacksonville, Miami, San Francisco, Foxboro, Denver, East Rutherford (NJ), Seattle, Houston, Los Angeles, Oakland, Philadelphia

13th street pizza shop is good, but that's a false lead. So is 6th and Market, which is a block away from the Liberty Bell.
No significance at all and not in keeping with NFL stadium sightings.

I cruise past the stadiums daily - that's where I've been looking. One guy on IORR has an inside lead at the stadium and says it will happen, but no banners have appeared yet.

I've had a miserable day at work and not seeing any banners on the NFL stadium tonight didn't help my mood any. I'm in a particularly foul mood this evening.

Just to be a God damned team player I'll go along with the Philly rumors even though it's not fitting in with what they are doing in other towns. Philly gets posters near pizza shops, other towns get their NFL stadium decorated with a  banner and cheerleader performances.

Yep, makes perfect sense!

Perhaps the tongues are for the new album and not the tour. There's that's my rumor. Please spread it!

Actually, I'm not too enthused about this. I'd much rather see the Stones at an arena or even a stadium.
The JazzFest venue is just not up to hosting an act of the Stones' magnitude, IMHO.

A few years ago I thought I could see the different acts throughout the day, then at least walk up to the rear of the crowd and still be able to see Springsteen on the Acura stage.
No such luck.

Unless the organizers can make some arrangements to increase the capacity of the largest stage area they have at Jazz Fest, then people will be rushing to the stage when gates open that morning and staking out their "territory" all day. Option #2 would be to invest in some high-end ticket package.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle ticketing for this.

Does the name of the tour really mean that much?

Anyway, I figure I'm in for 2 or 3 shows. (Rose Bowl & perhaps Phoenix and maybe Santa Clara, Denver or Seattle)

DC was fortunate to get the '94 Voodoo Lounge opener, and after that, I made it to the opening shows for Licks and ABB, both in Boston.  The opening night energy is great.

For those that have the Stones app on their phones - yesterday afternoon they updated it. The message to prompt you to open it said, "There's tumbling dice down in Texas." I don't understand what that means. Tour opener in Texas?

The app is all about ticket sales and live streaming of shows.

Louisiana?? ;D

Festival date.  Standard practice for the promoters of those events to announce their line ups separately

theres an 8 day gap after Houston which coincides with JazzFest

i'd expect an extra night to be added in Pasadena, Rutherford, Chicago and maybe Foxborough if the demand is sufficient

No Toronto date? The El Mocambo is re-opening this spring too.....mini opening there?....13 dates is hardly a tour!....I'm thinking the demand in any city won't be great enough for two sold out shows. I think we have here...Tourettes…

Add.....

New Orleans
Toronto

the tour isnt 13 dates - it'll be about 16-17. its been around 14-16 since 2013.

No Canadian shows and no repeat visits to any of the places played in 2015-2016.  They will be playing New Orleans.

no need to warm up in Canada anymore. That was primarily motivated by minimising the amount of time in the US for tax reasons on long tours. not necessary these days as the tours are shorter - most of the last few US tours have seen them rehearse in LA.

Great memories Boomy from Pam's BBQ and Chess Studios in 2005 to our PJ party at the Chicago Hilton in 2006. We had so much fun. I'll have to dig out my pics from your 21st Birthday dinner at Morton's and scan and email them to you. Thank you for the PM. It was very sweet.

We have all been blessed by the friendships we've made here and other sites. All thanks to The Rolling Stones.

I'm planning to attend the DC show and it's just as much about seeing many of the same crazy friends as it is about seeing The Band.

It really is amazing how few bands/acts have been able to be one of the top, most sought after acts in the world for five decades

Hope they bring some luck to FedEx Field for next season..

Keep in mind, this is Stubhub

And there are also NO tickets available as yet.

Anyone stupid enough to pay above face value for what is already a pricey ticket for a stadium show deserves to be fleeced, to be honest.

Its hysterical seeing people on various sites getting frantic about this. No matter how many times they get told, there's no reasoning with them.

Mrs. Edith Grove & I ain't waiting on what Jazz Fest decides to do and will make Houston a priority.

Seems a shame we might not see them in our back yard, but we'd rather the comfort knowing we'll have seats waiting in Houston.

Jazz Fest has very much outgrown it's longtime venue, so it'll be very interesting (at least to me) how they are going to do this.

Expect quite a 'bait and switch' system aimed at getting you to panic buy REALLY overpriced tickets as those ones you really want prove to be elusive in presale and general sale - and then a few firesales and pit tickets becoming mysteriously available nearer the time.

I'm getting a lot of emails from my friends who are casual fans asking about tickets for this Philly gig. Also, local radio is talking about it like it's the biggest thing to ever happen.

Whatever the reason is, the vibes here are good. A summer rock and roll show in a huge stadium with the best rock and roll band in the world is a recipe for happiness.

Good point Gazza.

I'm planning my strategy with more options than usual. I plan to attend 3 shows.

AZ - Going for Lucky Dip (I owe a friend in AZ a favor)

Rose Bowl - Wife is joining me on this, must get a seat with a back - not all seats at the Rose Bowl have backs on them)

Santa Clara, or possibly Seattle or Denver - splurge for a face value pit ticket. I'll see which of these 3 will be easiest to get.

Been reading the likely price range is around $250- $500 - although the Lucky Dips would be cheaper and whatever packages are available to be much higher.

If I recall right, in the UK this year at first they only had pit tickets available as packages and then when those didnt sell out, they mysteriously became available as ticket-only deals.

Lonestar radio in Houston is giving away tickets every day for the Houston show. I heart radio is free to listen. You just have to call in when they announce it. Good luck!

EXCITED AND NERVOUS ABOUT TICKET SALES! It would help if we knew the ticket $range but I'm doing Lucky Dips if I can get them. Took Friday morning off from work to buy them. Normally Lucky Dips go onsale with the regular sale and not with the presale. But I'm gonna be online for the presale day to see whats happening and if anything worth it shows up. I'm not overpaying for tickets, the stadium show tickets often show up in waves days or weeks later.

Ticketbastard will take your money by any means necessary.

There are presales other than AMEX, or just go for the general sale.
You don't need to hit the presales to score good tickets.

About those ticket prices...... an inside source tells me that floor seats at Gillette will be $100-$400. Don’t know the full price structure but told that Club level seats (whatever the heck that is) are @ $210.

So who else is going to Gillette?

Just saw this on the presale link:

“Ticket Limits
American Express has set a two-order limit for this offer. This limit applies across all Cards associated with all of your American Express accounts. There is an eight (8) ticket limit for VIP Packages. There is an eight (8) ticket limit for this show”

Wtf?

welcome aboard. avoid secondary markets like the plague - unless you see what you need at knockdown prices close to show day.

regardless of what they tell you about a show being sold out or tickets not being available soon after they go on sale this  you'll  be able to get what you want at some point if you have patience.

presales are effectively public sales. Unless you're paying a premium fee to access them, theres usually little difference in what you'll be offered.

lucky dips will almost certainly go on sale around the same time as the public sale. you'll almost certainly only be able to access them through a link on the band's official site.

Welcome to the board! I live outside of Miami and I plan on going to this show and possibly Jacksonville. I've been pretty lucky with the Dips so I'll try for those first, and if they don't have the Lucky Dips this time, which isn't guaranteed, I'll jump on a decent seat or that's reasonable. Hope to see you there!

those are VIP tickets - regular pit tickets seem to be around $500 on the fan club presale.

To show what mind games youre up against, its interesting to see that you get placed in a waiting room before you can even SEE how much the tickets are - the idea being that once youre there, you'll probably just bite the bullet and buy them.

Really appalling and cynical bit of marketing.

Fuck Ticketmaster and the Stones organization with these prices.  I know they've always been on the high side, but Jesus...

I've seen the band a ton and while this MAY be the last time, I'm not selling a kidney to buy tickets.

This fucking sucks.

Pdog,
My wait for DC was 15 mins.  For Houston it was 50.
We need to get together in Houston. It's been a very long time.

Hey Pdog, I've wondered where you been hiding! The dips go on sale with the public sale but you have to get it thru RS.com, and that links you to TM and the lucky dips. All shows don't get lucky dips (past) and no guarantee they will do it the same way. I hope they have it for all the shows.

Don't you love how Ticketbastard has the "waiting room" now? The little character walking along as 2000+ folks are ahead of you in line. Meanwhile Stubhub and the rest of the crooks have the best seats in hand and posted for sale. Now there is a case of collusion I would like to see prosecuted.

I had to actually go and look that one up in the archives. Yikes. Seems like at the time you thought the Taylor Swift incident in Chicago topped it, but that might have been said in the heat of the moment.

A further search showed the internet has been scrubbed of any other evidence of The Salt Lake Incident.

That was a rough year. I still have a slight twitch in my right eye from seeing Streets Of Love promoted exclusively on Days Of Our Lives.

I just thank God that I am no longer a teenager because there is no way I could have defended this. The amount of abuse that would have been showered on me for this would have been tremendous.

It ain't the Exile On Main St. Blues, that's for sure.

In fairness, the 'Salt Lake Incident' in 2005 set the bar to a low level which still hasnt been beaten

Ok..gotta ask.....why were you watching Days of Our Lives?.....

Oh yeah...let me clarify that. I didn't actually see Days Of Our Lives. I saw the press relaese about it, heard the song, and ever since my eye sometimes twitches like Inspector Dreyfus in the Pink Panther movies, whenever I'm reminided of a Stones embarassment.

There is certainly room for a club date in NYC...just wishfully saying...they can do it...12 songs...with 1 or 2  gems...Beacon...maybe even a samller club for the really "in the know"...just eff the private parties.

@FPM...Did you get them? Or were you just quoting someone?

The Americanism equivilent of a LUCKY DIP is a Kwik Pick...as in the lottery (Powerball etc)

Anyway...as Scope said...its a lottery...you buy a pair of tkts for about $75.00 (inc fees) and you pick them up at will call or designated area...you open the envelope to see whee you get to sit...
They could be nosebleeds...they could be GA Field, lower level or even PIT!

In Dublin, I scored 2 for PIT B...Gazza Scored 2 Lower Level mid field-ish . We got to pick our own envelopes...it was so nerve racking...I considered that my own personal Sophie's Choice moment.

In Paris, I believe our sweet BITCH scored PIT for all 3 shows...

Its a way to satiate Jagger's ego and assure a sell out and fill up seats in the expensive areas should they not sell completely...its an Anti-Tarping tactic really

@Scope et al...SEE YOU IN LANDOVER MD!!

@Gazza...you are right...they were about $125.00 for the pair in Dublin

PM for BITCH

more often than not, yes. Its more likely in arenas though.

I'd always recommend doubling up with a friend, buying a pair each, using the best pair and offloading the other one.

Worked for me at Twickenham (nosebleeds and Gold Circle) and with Paranoid Android in Dublin (first tier seats at halfway line and Pit B).

Certainly difficult to actually quantify, but as Gazza said...best to double up and increase your chances...at 75/pair...whats to really loose...

I find that the really cheap seats go FAST at the normal sale...so chances are that you wont get those...not to say you wont get the next tier which may still be up towards the top or opposite stage...but you gotta be in it, to win it!!

Glad we're planning on Houston. Perhaps this should be on the politics thread as well:

New Orleans City Hall employees received hundreds of free Jazz Fest tickets, inspector general finds

Dec 5, 5:05 PM

By Kevin Litten, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune [email protected]
The Times-Picayune

The company that produces the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival gave hundreds of Jazz Fest tickets to city employees last year, in violation of state ethics laws, the New Orleans Inspector General has found.

The heads of seven City Hall departments in the administration of then-Mayor Mitch Landrieu received the tickets, investigators said in a report released Wednesday (Dec. 5). Quint Davis, CEO of Festival Productions, told the OIG that “Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office/Marlin Gusman” received 16 free tickets, and the office has referred that revelation to the Louisiana Legislative Auditor, the report said.

Investigators concluded that the city received between 284 and 424 free Jazz Fest tickets, and that the majority of employees said they were aware they could not accept them. The investigation recommends that the city discontinue the practice of receiving free tickets, and warned that employees who did so could be subject to fines associated with Louisiana ethics laws.

Jazz Fest and city officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The investigation into City Hall centered on tickets distributed to the directors of Parks and Parkways, Property Management, the Chief Administration Office, the Public Works Department, the Finance Department, the New Orleans Police Department and the New Orleans Fire Department.

The OIG said the distribution of the tickets violated two ethics laws prohibiting payment from nonpublic sources and prohibiting gifts. It also said the ticket distribution was in violation of the Louisiana Constitution’s prohibition on donations.

In addition to the alleged ticket violations, the OIG found that the Parks and Parkways Department “loaned” three gazebos to Jazz Fest last year without signing a hold harmless agreement or charging a rental fee. An assistant director of Parks and Parkways, Timothy Lavelle, told an investigator that Jazz Fest uses the gazebos to sell Jazz Fest programs and that the only reason the department maintained them was “to loan them out to the Jazz Festival every year,” according to the OIG report.

A second employee, senior maintenance welder Steve Meyer, told an investigator that when the gazebos are delivered to the infield track of the Fair Grounds Race Course, he would go to a trailer where a Jazz Fest employee would give him two brown envelopes, the report said. He told investigators that one envelope was addressed to Parks and Parkways Director Ann MacDonald and the other to Assistant Director Lavelle.

A similar arrangement was happening in the property management department, according to former director George Patterson, although Patterson told investigators that a hold harmless agreement was in place for the use of city-owned bleachers and the city was paid for the rental. Patterson said a courier from Jazz Fest would arrive at City Hall with Jazz Fest tickets, and that his office forwarded tickets to former Public Works Director Cedric Grant’s office.

Patterson said it was his understanding that those tickets weren’t distributed, and were forwarded to former Deputy Mayor Scott Hutcheson’s office for return to Jazz Fest. He told an investigator that “this practice has been going on for decades.”

In an interview with the OIG, Hutcheson said that the city does purchase Jazz Fest tickets to staff the mayor’s tent during the festival. When he learned Jazz Fest was also distributing free tickets, and that they were going to Grant, he advised Grant those tickets couldn’t be used and notified City Attorney Rebecca Dietz about potential ethics issues.

When the CAO’s office was contacted about the investigation, Deputy CAO for personnel Courtney Bagneris told investigators that it was her understanding that a deputy director in property management, Ed Sens, was distributing free Jazz Fest tickets, the report said. She said that she also received free tickets in her office mailbox, but that because she knew she couldn’t accept anything of value, she gave away the tickets -- though the document said she couldn’t recall who the recipient was.

One employee, Assistant Public Works Director Allen Yrle, told investigators that he was “appalled” at the amount of free work the city does for Jazz Fest without compensation. Yrle told investigators the city was reimbursed for work performed for film crews, movie sets and Mardi Gras Parades, but not Jazz Fest. As an example, one employee told investigators that the department installed temporary signs for Jazz Fest, and that they are used only for Jazz Fest. When new signs were made, Jazz Fest provided them at no cost, the employee said.

Bureau of Revenue employees told the OIG that their free tickets were used by employees who distribute flyers to vendors about how to remit sales taxes to the city. They also check to make sure that businesses are operating within the scope of their permit and conduct enforcement on unlicensed vendors operating outside the park.

The chief of staff for NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison told the OIG that most Jazz Fest tickets were used for official business, so that officers could access working stage assignments, but that sometimes Harrison would distribute tickets to clerical and support staff at NOPD. NOFD Chief Timothy McConnell also told the OIG that some tickets were used for official business, and that he distributed other free tickets “to a woman in the community who is a member of one of the Mardi Gras Indian organizations that performs at the Jazz Fest.”

The investigation also recommended that the city stop loaning city property to Jazz Fest at no charge, and establish a credentialing process for employees who need to access the festival for official business instead of relying on free tickets.

The investigation was launched in August 2017 after the OIG received a confidential complaint alleging that Festival Productions “had routinely provided city of New Orleans employees with free admission tickets.”

Personally I think it would be ludicrous is they didn't rehearse and perform 'Too Much Blud'. There was the extra simple riff, playing off the horn folk, on the track on the 'Show Me Your W**kings' bootleg, which is Surely Jogger, and Dazza (Daryl) could do a splendid bass, like Wyman after a night at 54, and the line 'Too Much Bl..' fits so many things. I can only imagine the delights and tinkles that would unfold. It's a cracker / classic,. The horns would be as happy as Larry. There would even be time for the odd musician to nip to the loo quickly.

Happy days.

Personally...I love Too Much Blood. I think its a great song, the extended club versions were awesome as well.
I thought they could have played it during the 3 Paris shows  during No Filter pt 1...

It could certainly replace Miss You as the Showcase Vegas Review portion...it would certainly reduce the bathroom lines

I'd like to know, when was the last time the Stones played a full show without Miss You ?

It seems like they feel obligated to include MY rather than substituting two tunes with shorter runtimes.
Save the longer tunes for Rambler or Knockin.'

So when was the last show without MY, excluding special appearances, private parties, etc.

A long long time ago I ranted on here about Miss You and how since it's one of their biggest hits there's no way it would ever be dropped.

I also tied it in to the Bobby Keys fandom since he blew a mean horn on it. It was his tour de force. Most people who loved Bobby hated that song and didn't recognize the irony in it.

Even more weirdly as he doesnt play on the studio version (its Mel Collins)

The studio version is a masterpiece, regardless of the fact that in concert its been played to death.

I'm pretty sure it's their #1 selling single. But my memory might not be as good as it used to be.

As far as Bobby playing the sax solo, I was referring to it in concert. The same people who were so brokenhearted when he passed away were the ones who hated hearing that song in concert.

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today!

From Wiki...FYI:

"Miss You" became The Rolling Stones' eighth and final number one hit in the United States on its initial release in 1978. It hit the top on 5 August 1978, ending the seven-week reign of "Shadow Dancing" by Andy Gibb. It also reached number three in the United Kingdom. The song was originally nearly nine minutes long, but was edited to nearly five minutes for the album version, and to three-and-a-half minutes for the radio single. In order to properly edit the radio single without audible bumps and glitches, a separate mix was constructed and then edited for continuity. The B-side of the single was another album track, "Far Away Eyes", a tongue-in-cheek country tune sung by Jagger in a pronounced drawl....

...In 2010, Rolling Stone magazine rated "Miss You" number 498 in its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.[10]

YES!
you may even see additional Lucky Dips drop...those platinum ticket prices change as demand go up/down...just my opinion overall...but I think you will be able to get a ticket or two at a decent price...maybe even better than nosebleed

Rolling Stones to play Jazz Fest May 2: $185 tickets go on sale Friday, but Thursday for locals

Ticket details here :

https://www.theadvocate.com/gambit/new_orleans/events/article_b0eb38e8-1862-11e9-8d68-074196de341f.html

Tickets will be $185 for the Stones, a separate admission charge from the rest of the Thursday acts. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Jan. 18, but Thursday, Jan. 17 will be "Local Rolling Stones Day," Davis said, with tickets going on sale at the Superdome box office with local ID. Sales start at 9 a.m. Thursday, two to a person.
Rumors of the Stones playing a special show at the 50th annual Jazz & Heritage Festival had circulated around town since last fall, and were juiced by a November Instagram video posted by lead singer Mick Jagger, during which he mentioned New Orleans on a list of upcoming tour cities. Jazz Fest had officials remained mum, saying only that the second Thursday would have special ticket pricing and structure.

Mavis Staples, Ziggy Marley and others will be playing that day, but all stages will stop around 5 p.m., according to Festival director Quint Davis, to allow the Stones to set up for a solo performance at the Fair Grounds.

"They're playing under a tent!" Davis said.

They will perform on a proper outdoor stage with a canopy large enough to cover the stage, equipment, etc.

Springsteen, Petty, Neil Young, Aerosmith, Pearl Jam and many others have performed on the Acura Stage in recent years.

Hello scope!

If you decide to come, make sure your ticket covers Thursday, May 2.

I don't know how many tickets will be sold for this day, but JazzFest organizers have declared that they will only sell as many tickets that will allow "everyone to be able to see the Stones."
I'm assuming they have a number in mind as to how many people can reasonably fit in the Acura Stage area.

Chairs, towels, etc. are normally allowed at JazzFest, but prohibited for the Stones.
That indicates to me that they're trying to jam as many people in as possible, who will be standing in close quarters and possibly having a mudfest if it rains, and it rains pretty good here in April/May.

I'm not trying to talk you out of going, just giving you the info JazzFest won't.  :blankfriggingstare1

Doors open around 10-11am and all stages will have activity until 5pm when the Stones are set to begin.
After 5pm only the Stones will play.

BTW, come hungry 'cause the food is awesome.

Yeah, but Jazz Fest isn't in the habit of releasing specific figures.

I'm thinking that stage area cannot match the size of most stadiums.

The tour kicks off April 20 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. According to the Alliance for Lifetime Income website, the group saw the sponsorship opportunity as too good to pass up.

"As a band that personifies longevity and living life to the fullest, The Rolling Stones continue to prove to millions of fans from every generation that age is just a number," the ALI statement reads.

"Living longer is all about continuing to do the things you love, whether you’re retired or not. Happily, millions of Stones fans everywhere are living longer, blazing new trails, and redefining retirement. And they want the freedom to continue doing what they love, regardless of age."

The Stones' 16-date stadium tour wraps up June 21-25 with a pair of shows in Chicago.

A nonprofit, the ALI formed last year to better promote lifetime income options. The group has three main goals:

Insurer members of the alliance include AIG, Allianz Life, AXA Equitable Life, Brighthouse Financial, Global Atlantic, Prudential, State Farm, Jackson National Life, Lincoln Financial, MassMutual, Nationwide, Pacific Life, Protective, TIAA and Transamerica.

Asset managers Capital Group, Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Invesco, JP Morgan, Macquarie, Milliman, SSGA and T. Rowe Price also participate in the alliance.

Still unconfirmed, but a few rumours going around (coupled with tongue 'teasers' ) which would suggest that there may be a show about to be added at Rogers Centre, Toronto on June  29.

The image was taken at the Eaton Centre today. Thanks, Andrew.

A little rain fallin'
A little clock keep away the time
A little rain fallin'
A little clock keep away the time
Well now, a little rain keep a-fallin'
On this little love of mine
Little flowers open
Little birds keep a-singin' tune
A little flower open
A little birds keep-a singin' tune
I would like to love ya baby, underneath the shinin' moon

Just sit on stools the spotlight focus on the group and they open with this!

A lot of Canadians were complaining about getting no shows this tour so The Stones decided they should do Canada since they are going to be so close by. Makes good sense. Now people wish they announced all the shows together making traveling easier. Would of been nice but this was most likely an afterthought or they were holding out for a big payday of 100,000 fans.

if more lucky dips drop for Glendale AZ, I may fly out with Mrs PA for a quickie

Zac Brown Band?!? Are they relevant? I have no clue who they are...Europe gets decent openers...Maybe DC will get a nice Hometown treat with Foo Fighters...would make for a good duet...Rock-n-Roll HOFers Bon Jovi for NJ would be a treat...innit right Gazza?

Yes, one wonders why Jacksonville was chosen. Atlanta would make much more sense.

Back in 2004 I was sent to Jacksonville for a 2 week workshop by my agency. The first thing we were told upon arrival that the highlight of Jacksonville, at least the time of year we were there, was visiting the local Walmart.
For the weekend, I headed to Orlando to see Epcot and on the last free day before my flight home, I drove to St. Augustine.

The line up and stage times for the Stones' show at JazzFest on Thursday May 2nd.

ACURA STAGE

11.30 am - 12.20 pm - Cowboy Mouth

12.45 pm - 1.40 pm - Anders Osborne

2.00 pm- 3.00 pm - Samantha Fish

3.30 pm - 4.30 pm - Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk

5.00 pm - 7.00 pm - The Rolling Stones

Nice break for Samantha to get on the same bill as the Stones.  They could do a lot worse than bring her onstage to play a few bluesy licks with them. She's worth getting there early to see.

Sammy The Fish/Thighs is special, but is a bit like Mike Taylor in the way her instrument whines a bit too much/often and how she  doesn't leave much air, although this is a show-closer I presume.
The bass-player certainly throbs along nicely.

Having followed closely, and with admiration, the skillfully targeted social
media marketing of the Stones' tours since 2012, I have to say I find the
non-marketing of the current tour more than a bit bizarre.

Either 1) I have vastly underestimated the Stones' current automatic appeal
in the USA to the event junky/bucket list crowd, or 2) this tour is about to be
delayed for some "unavoidable" reason.

Hopefully its reason 1.

1) I've noticed for months now that this tour was not being marketed in
any way that made sense, given the pricing and the size of the venues

2) I think the circumstantial evidence of a collapse in the effort to use
the Maroon 5 halftime show to market the Stones NFL tour is persuasive.
In the end, Adam Levine would only agree to Jagger having a minor
cameo, where Mick would only consider a star-of-the-show appearance.
Levine was so angry he would not even say the word "jagger" when M5
did a 30-second version of their biggest hit.

3) I wrote in December that the Stones needed the Super halftime show
to fill the NFL venues, and apparently i was right.

4) So i'll make another guess now. The shows will be rescheduled but
not until the same months in 2020.

5) And yes, this means I believe Mick's health is fine.

3 weeks from today is the tour opener in Miami! Yay! I'm gonna be there in full Stones gear!

They are in rehearsals now. I think LA but its a secret location as usual. I haven't heard any leaks yet.

They are using advertising by emails and Internet. I see a lot of them on various social media ads and emails from TM.

They saw poor sales in Jacksonville so they added Zack Brown band because they are locally loved and presumably will attract more people.

Some ticket drops have been happening and people bought the originally overpriced tickets for "reasonable" prices. There will be more last minute ticket drops to come.

Ronnie and KEEF both stated in recent interviews they are getting ready to record and get back on the road.
