I guess Dublin will will be finalized or denied later today by the district council......I wonder if they have a  secondary plan is to play in the smaller stadium south of the river (name escapes me ATM).
Either way...I have my room booked...fingers crossed!

BTW...these lazy fucks couldn't come up with a new tour name???

Maybe they read my and Gazza's earlier posts about tempting THE HAND OF FATE with calling it "No Stopping".

But anywayz...NO IMAGINATION... :booze

Dublin, obviously and maybe one other.  Probably Twickenham. Will probably do Lucky Dip for Dublin and get a GA for any other one that I go to.

Still holding out hope for a birthday gig at the 02 on May 30th, but I'm not sure if it'll happen and its probably financially impractical anyway.

11 shows confirmed today. I still expect there to be around 14-15 shows in all with the extras all being in England.

Ticket prices are up for Manchester and London (Olympic Stadium). The London gig has more of a breakdown of each category.

£89.95 (£101.65 after charges) for GA and 'limited unreserved seating'

No details available as yet for Lucky Dips but that should follow. It would fucking need to!

The first figure below is the basic price - the one beside it is after TM charges
No Filter Pit B Standing
£399.95* - £451.95*

No Filter Pit A Standing
£399.95* - £451.95*

Gold Circle Standing

I like the fantasy that there appear to be seats in all categories which cost £0.00.

Mind you, the TM fees are probably about £250.

Nope! Just me....

I have never really complained about the prices...its the face value prices that allow me to score great seats for cheap in the parking lot after all...I promise not to complain about the setlist (because we all know it already)...though, I will complain when they pull out that gem...and drop it after the 3rd show because they haven't played it to death and are not able to mail it in)

And as far as the tour name...I know its because they didnt want to pay for new banners and whatnot...and there was no indication as to WTF "No Filter" even meant...

After much screwing around waiting for presale codes, which were due to arrive in my inbox at 12 noon GMT but in the eventuality didn't materialize until 13.06, I managed to secure a GA ticket for Twickenham.
Once I received the code the process of ordering on the PC was protracted, painful & unsuccessful. I jumped onto the mobile phone & I got through to the sales page almost immediately, as if I had bypassed the queues.
Twickenham will do for me atm,
I cant justify breaking the bank for 2 hours in a stadium.
I may well rock up to West Ham on the night & bag a bargain from a tout but if I'm honest I'm not that fussed.

Got tickets on the pre sale for Murrayfield! Hurrah!

But they’re seating tickets and I really want standing ones!

Hoping I can swap them with folk who end up with standing ones but want seating ones. The tickets I’ve got are a bit ore expensive than standing ones but not fussed about that!

Never seen the Stones! Super excited!!!

Why did you pick tickets you didnt want? Its a presale! You'll have plenty of chances for GA tickets on Friday.

And then there'll be loads of ticket drops afterwards.  :-/

Just as a guide, these were the ticket prices for Twickenham in the presales

Golden Circle £249.95
General Admission - £89.95
Lower Tier A & Middle Tier A - £179.95
Lower Tier B & Middle Tier B - £129.95
Upper Tier A - £99.95
Middle Tier C - £99.95
Middle Tier D - £79.95
Upper Tier B - £79.95
Upper Tier C - £59.95

Note : TM fees are extra.  They seem to be about an extra 12.5% for the most part.

The 'No Filter' pit wasnt available in the presale but £399.95 seems to be the going rate as those are the presale prices quoted for London Stadium and Manchester

C'mon Gazza...give the noob a break!! He/she just got caught up in the excitement of it all...
To be honest...This new model of the pre-sale is not w/o fault...as we know...some fans in the Americas got their code 20 minutes BEFORE the sale started...then the whole UK/Euro fiasco started...an hour AFTER the tkts went up for sale...(see ADE's post above)

Just all that traffic and waiting would make anyone nervous and a bit click-happy...

Lusty...you will stand at your seats and be happy...or maybe the ticket exchange nymphs will smile at you and bring you to an even more magical evening. I heard though my sources that Scotland will be THE SHOW of the tour!!

Let's hope you dont get Omaha'd

I didnt mean it like that. Its great to see someone so excited.

Its just frustrating to see people panic buying and paying a lot of money for something they dont want when its only the first pre-sale. Can understand falling into that trap on public sale day - we've all done it, I'm sure - but I'd wager that anyone will be able to get whatever tickets they want for these shows at face value (or less, if you want to play a game of 'chicken' with touts and the shysters on the secondary market) between now and when the shows take place

And yes, Scotland have the best audiences in the British Isles. No question about that, in my eyes.  So I hope they get the best show (after Twickenham and Dublin, of course...)

I'm gonna try to score Prague, since I don't see them coming to Greece, yet again (sigh). The plan is golden tickets, Keith's side, and then eating beans for the next three months since I'll be broke ;D But the REAL problem is how the hell am I going to get to Prague, since I'm too scared to get on a plane  ;D

Ha!

No offence taken!

I've been on since nine trying to sort out standing tickets!

I've still got the checking status orange clock spinning but all account info ready.

However I've gone on the ticket site and it says all standing tickets are gone!

Am I waisting my time or are they gone to everyone other than those with the spinning clock?!

Thanks!!!

I heard reports about the Lucky Dip fiasco this morning...I hope all ROCKSOFFers scored...someone at the promoter fucked up and started selling them as individual tickets (with 6 ticket limit!!)...this was corrected after sometime and they went back to the 2-fer model.

Dont forget your RO Sisters & Brothers if you scored the mother payload!!

Nice gesture to sell Lucky Dips at £60 for a pair.

No doubt someone at AXS is in for a bollocking today though after the system allowed ticket buyers to purchase anything from 1 to 6 tickets until the glitch was rectified and changed to  2 per purchase.

I'm sure the promoters were fuming at the thought that several people were buying 6 tickets for £200 while at the same time they're trying to offload single seats for much the same price.

I'd expect more LD ticket drops for most (or all) of the same shows between now and the day of the gigs.

But hey, £30 to see the Stones in London in a stadium. Just like it was in 1995. Although you know what THAT means - 'Sparks Will Fly' will be performed EVERY night.

They'll release more. God knows when, but they will.

With GA tickets, because they're not reserved seating, there'll always be ticket drops while they're figuring out the configuration of the stage and how many the pitch can hold.

You have three months. You'll get them for face value no problem. There'll also always be people on the various fan boards with extras.  Dont pay above the asking price to anyone and avoid all of these rip off secondary market and broker sites.

In fact I'd bet that on the day of the shows, if you turned up without a ticket you'll find one in any category you want for no more than face value.

Dublin update...

https://www.herald.ie/news/no-appeal-right-over-decision-on-licence-for-stones-croke-park-gig-36652123.html

Dubliners objecting to a licence for the Rolling Stones to play at Croke Park will have no right of appeal if it is granted.

The application for an Outdoor Event Licence by Aiken Promotions is currently with the city council's planning section which is considering whether to allow the May 17 concert.

People objecting to the stadium hosting a fourth musical event there this year have until next Monday to formally lodge their submissions to the council before the public consultation process closes.

However, if they are not happy with the decision of the council, there is no further action available to them, such as taking it to An Bord Pleanala.

When asked what procedures are in place for anyone objecting to a final decision by the council, a spokesperson told the Herald: "There is no appeal mechanism on the decision of Dublin City Council relating to an event licence."

Tour

This week, the veteran rockers confirmed plans to open the second leg of their European No Filter tour in Dublin. They want to play Croke Park in May before playing a string of dates around the UK and on the continent, including Germany, France and Poland.

However, given that the stadium operators have already used their three permitted exemption dates for Taylor Swift playing two nights there and Michael Buble performing in July, they must get another licence for it to go ahead.

Asked when a decision was due back from Dublin City Council (DCC), a spokesperson for Aiken said it was out of their hands entirely at this stage.

"It's when the process is completed by the statutory bodies, the DCC," she said.

However, a decision could come back as early as next month, before the tickets, which are priced from €71 to €181, go on sale on March 23.

A select number of VIP packages will also be available to diehard fans.

The council can give a decision any time from when the consultation process ends but must give a definitive answer no later than four weeks before the event.

If the concert does get the council's go-ahead, tickets are expected to sell out extremely quickly, given that it has been 11 years since the Stones played in Ireland.

The week of the planned show is set to be a busy one for Dublin concert-goers given that award-winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran will perform three sell-out dates in the Phoenix Park on May 16, 18 and 19.

That article is a few days old, so the 'next month' comment refers to March.

Contrary to what has been posted on some boards and social media pages today following an RTE radio interview with Ronnie this morning in which he said how much he was looking forward to the gig, NO decision has been made yet on the licence application.

Here's a link to Ronnie's interview on The Ryan Tubridy Show this morning (thanks, Cristiano)

Evidently it was somewhat optimistic to schedule a potential additional Manchester gig on June 2nd.

Looks like the Stones are going to be 'sent to Coventry' on Charlie's birthday!

These shows will probably be the most 'intimate' of this tour. The Ricoh Arena in Coventry would hold about 36-40,000 for a concert and St Marys Stadium in Southampton around 30-32,000.

I don't see the connection...but frankly...the last 3-4 tours have seemed like farewell tours to me...I always wonder how they will do it...announce a final string of 4 shows at London's O2 or RAH ( kinda depressing )? Make an announcement at the one final show at the encore ( Drop the Mick! ) ? Wait till Keef just collapses on stage ( total RnR!! )?

And seriously...do you think they would really end it in of all places, Poland?
It's not a kin  as if The Beatles played their last show in Hamburg...besides...the last show will be a PPV spectacular...thats the clue you have to keep an eye out for.

9 shows if Dublin comes off. All stadiums.

We got 3 festival dates in 2013
2 arena shows in London in 2012
3 arena shows plus, Isle of Wight Festival and Slane in 2007
5 stadium shows in 2006
11 shows in 2003 (2 stadiums, 8 arenas, 1 theatre)
5 shows in 1999 (4 stadiums, 1 theatre)
5 shows in 1995 (4 stadiums, 1 theatre)
10 shows in 1990 (all stadiums)
10 shows in 1982 (6 stadium shows, 3 theatres, 1 club)
14 shows in 1976 (8 arena shows, 5 theatres, 1 festival (Knebworth)
12 shows in 1973 (4 arenas, 8 theatres)

The last 'standalone' British Tour was  the 'Farewell Britain' tour in 1971.

This is certainly the biggest UK tour in terms of ticket availability and spreading it around the country since 1990 - its the first time to me since then that its felt like a 'proper' tour as from 1990 onwards, London has always got a disproportionately high percentage of UK shows.
28 out of 43 by my reckoning

Discounting the two festival dates in 2007 and 2013 , the Stones havent played a UK show of their own outside London since 2006.

Certainly feels like a farewell to me too. As I decided after 2014 I wouldnt travel overseas to see them again I'm pretty sure Twickenham will be my last show.  We're realistically looking at another 3-4 years before they could play here again and I dont expect them to still be a touring act by then.

I dont think Poland will be their last show, if thats what you mean.

Had this tour just been a string of UK shows ending at Twickenham - so close to where they really started to make a name for themselves at the Crawdaddy in Richmond -  I'd have taken that as an ironic and somewhat poignant hint that they were winding things up.

While I dont think they'll go on the road again this year, I'd expect them to keep going for a while longer, with probably some US dates in 2019.

But realistically we are in the home straight now. I wouldnt count on another series of shows on home turf.  If anyone has a visit to the UK to see the Stones as part of their bucket list, I reckon its now or never.  Its a lot to expect that in a band where theyre all now between 70 and 76 that all four of them will be capable of doing this to a standard that they're all happy with in 3-4 years time.

and nothing yet on RS.com

Fingers crossed as most of that Sun article seems like cut/paste to me...

They got in trouble last week lifting quotes from an interview with Jennifer Lawrence as their own last week...the interview was on The Howard Stern Show the week before and they lifted exact quotes as if they interviewed her.

Either way...its 50/50, right? Easy enough to rewrite as a sudden change of plans, blah blah blah

Its evidently inside info they're sharing. I doubt they'd be sticking their necks out like that with an announcement being imminent. Giving details of ticket prices and onsale dates a few weeks ago is another thing entirely.

And they're also the first source to specifically say that the residents group's objections weren't upheld.  Very significant, I would say.

Its easy to dismiss tabloid sources but it depends on what the story is. Its not just celebrity whispers and tittle tattle all the time. They DO break a lot of stories due to having good inside info as well.

The Rolling Stones will definitely be rocking out at Croke Park this May after Dublin City Council granted Aiken Promotions its Outdoor Event Licence.

An application was made to the planning section last month in a bid to secure a fourth musical date at the northside stadium, given that the three concerts have already been booked.

In a release sent out this afternoon, Aiken confirmed that they have been green-lighted for the long-awaited gig in Croker on May 17, despite objections from some local residents.

Meanwhile, a representative of the Clonliffe and Croke Park area residents association said they were "deeply unhappy" at today's decision.

They held a public meeting last month where a number of locals voiced their concerns over what they fear will be the increased use of Croke Park.

"We're not happy that's the bottom line and we feel that we've been let down by Dublin City Council," said association chairperson Patrick Gates.

He said that the residents won't be just disrupted on the day of the concert itself, It's also the days leading up to the event where huge crews will arrive in to start setting up the sprawling stage.

Not only will the Stones open the second leg of their No Filter tour in Ireland, the Dublin stadium will also be the largest venue that Mick Jagger and his bandmates will perform in this summer.

It will start off in Ireland and then take in dates in UK, France, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland and tickets for their other concerts had already gone on sale.

Tickets for their only Irish gig will go on general released this Friday morning at 9am priced from €70.45.

However, a number of tickets will be released in a pre-sale event for die-hard fans on Thursday morning.

I wonder is it subject to license and pending objections from local residents groups?

Strict conditions imposed for Rolling Stones concert

https://www.rte.ie/news/dublin/2018/0321/949140-rolling-stones/

Soundchecks and rehearsals for the Rolling Stones concert in Croke Park will only be allowed between the hours of 11am and 8pm

There will two days of both rehearsals and soundchecks that can only last for three hours each time. On other days, sound checks will be allowed for one hour.

There will only be 12 porta potties for the entire event. Because they don't want any shit.

Joey has been banned so they really only need 10.....

Hi lads. You experienced concert-goers: is the Gold section a nice spot to see them? I mean, can I actually SEE them without having to resort to the screens? I hope it is because that's where I'll be. Fuck yeah!

If youre paying that kind of money, I'd like to think you wouldnt need a screen.   But as you know, in stadiums there's always a bit of an extra gap between stage and audience

Hope to see you in Dublin. I'll be with Paranoid Android, it seems.

Gonna have to double down my friend!!
Hope to see you there!!

As the field is not on an incline, you will prolly be looking at the screens a lot for the finer moments...but you should have no problem seeing the stage...the real issue is not so much distance from the stage...its how deep the stage goes back...the screens really help for that I feel .

The field in that stadium is massive.  Far bigger and wider than in a football, rugby or NFL stadium.

WTF?!?
I really miss the good old days when it only took 1 (ok...sometimes 2) blowjobs to get backstage...
These are trying times, indeed

Can't believe the $25,000 meet and greets for some dates are "SOLD OUT".....It would be about a $1000 per second as Keith pushes Charlie out behind a curtain
