Title: Landmark Day in Stones History
Post by KMC on Nov 7th, 2017 at 6:33pm
Nov. 7 was the first show of the 1969 tour. Still the best in many fans' opinion - and mine.

Here in NYC the only info available was through articles in Rolling Stone Mag. which you had to track down in head shops or record stores. Regular papers ignored it. FM rock stations didn't mention it. Tickets weren't on sale yet for Madison Square Garden dates. "Let It Bleed" was still not released. So many questions.
What songs would they do?
How would Mick Taylor fit in?
What would they look and sound like?

All I knew was that the first show was on Thanksgiving night and I was going to get a ticket no matter what.
I put a November calendar page in my school notebook and started Xing out dates like a prisoner in a jail cell.
The waiting was going to be a killer.
But the Stones were coming!

(More on the tour soon.)
