Title: Hello rock n' roll fans..
Post by bmuseed on Mar 14th, 2017 at 11:37am
It's been awhile since I was here and in the interim I wrote a book about my exploits with a few of bands: Out of Our Heads, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Me.
Here is my first review from Chris Epting on Huffington Post:
Rolling Stones Insider Shares Memories and Rare Artifacts in New Book
Back in the mid 1960s, overnight, a street-smart east coast kid went from being a college student to tour manager/moneyman and confidante to the Rolling Stones. The band didn’t eat, drink, or even play unless Ronnie Schneider did his job, and this trusting relationship led to a wild adventure that would soon include the Beatles, Swinging London, and producing the mythical ’69 Stones tour that culminated in the infamous show at Altamont. In his new book, Schneider gives readers an all access pass into the most intimate spaces, from hotels and boardrooms to private planes and backstage debauchery,  crunching deals, babysitting the band, tasting wine, woman and dope – this is a front row seat to rock’s last great era; jam-packed with rare artifacts and all the paperwork to back it up.
I did it for the fans.
Ronnie Schneider

Congratulations and nice to meet you Ron! Are you British? That is quite an accomplishment and I hope you sell a lot of books.

Hey Ronnie! Great to hear from you here, just for your info, some weeks ago we posted some of Ethan Russell's pictures from your book as headers! Like the one we have now of the Stones in Ámsterdam 1970

LOl yes he was there...

From oue setlist page:

"Stephen Stills flew with Henry Diltz from London to Amsterdam to talk  to the Stones stage manager Chip Monck, because Stephen wanted to hire him. They were standing on the side of the stage and Jagger motioned for Stephen to sit in"

Well that's a big place, so can you narrow it down to your home state?

Could you narrow it down to a zip code?

Dont worry...though accused and brought to trial ( only twice), Bitch has never really been found guilty of stalking...and the only restraining orders issued were because of non-Stones related events...

Isn't that right darling?

Truth be told...I would be honored if she chose to stalk me for a while...preferably during bathing suit season where I could show off my goods!!

PA very funny, I just thought he might be British and I do love British men. American men, not as much. I'm always curious to see where the RO people are located around the planet. We represent quite a few countries and every continent.

I just finished this book and have to say it's a great read - the best new Stones-related book I've read in quite a long time.

Its obviously not JUST about the Stones, as before parting company with Allen Klein, Ronnie worked and was associated with several acts from that era (The Beatles, Hermans Hermits etc) but his involvement with the Stones do take up the majority of the book.  He also produced the  'Gimme Shelter' movie, so the behind the scenes account of how that project came about makes for fascinating and at times hilarious reading.  Excellent insight into working with Allen Klein as well.

Really liked the fact that it was done in diary style, and aside from the in depth first hand account of the historic 1969 tour, it also covers life on the road with the Stones in 1965-66 and again in 1970 - periods that havent been as well documented as others. I certainly learned a lot from it.

And at the end of the book, there's a large amount of artefacts and memorabilia (letters, contracts etc) to give an additional and more personalised perspective into what it was like to manage a tour and the business needs of the band in that era.   Really recommend it.
