Ahhhhh, Love Child...my heart stopped for a minute. You DID manage to keep Part 16a, which is cool, but what we lost was more recent---Part 17. The other one stops in the Spring and Steve created a new thread that very day...:( So, the most recent thread is still gone. I clicked on a lot of archival stuff, but still couldn't find anything. Maybe someone else will have some luck with it...? :(

Well, I know the last 21 pages of pix had a lot I'd not seen before. Some were off eBay....don't know about the others. I have all of the "usual" Brian pix---hundreds and hundreds of them. But Lisa, especially, is always finding pix I haven't seen before. So, if she could just remember the last 21 pages she posted........... ::) ::) :-/ :'(

He looks to me he is uncomfortable around his band mates. He looks like he wishes he were someplace else other than
on the David Frost show. Mick seems to be pulling him in to maybe give him the feeling he is part of the picture instead of having to stand off to the side. I wonder what comes to mind when they see these old pictures of them with Brian and being so young and starting out? Love the pic of Brian at Monterey, he was so stoned, he was on STP, a very psychedelic drug, I saw him introduce Jimi Hendrix (very short) at Monterey on film, it's part of the DVD, I think in this time he was doing a lot of psychedelics, which could have screwed up his mind a lot, I know myself I did pure LSD in '69, & I ended up in the hospital, I overdosed on it, I did 2 person's dosage, & I was so out of it, my Mother called the Hospital, I was so far out that for 3 weeks I had people watching me, because I could have walked into the front of a car & not even know it, that's how bad it was for me mentally, it took me about 3 months to get back to normal living, so I can understand Brian's use of those drugs.

I loved the style for men clothes in 1966,anyway.Lots of stripes and polka dots. Looks like Brian had his hair cut a bit shorter and layered...this was before those massive sideburns emerged!!

I have a question especially my friend Brian fans who are female. In those pictures by JoneseygirlUK of the band in 1967
where they are playing in Madrid, and BJ has that pretty jacket on and wearing his fedora, would you ladies tell me if that is Brian's chest hair that is exposed under the shirt or is it another type of shirt? I have never seen him with an open shirt except at the pool but after looking at these pictures (DROOL, SLURP)I might be wrong. Mick is in front of him sorta and the other they are at the airport? Okay in the first picture the tee shirt or whatever it is(?) is obvious. The second one has the shirt open but the "pattern" beneath
for some reason does not look like chest hair. Maybe it is the way it appears on the computer screen that fools me. I hope it is, as I have never seen BJ wear an open shirt on stage either. Maybe there is a way to enlarge it. I sure hope it is because it looks so damn sexy I could SWOON and FAINT. |

It might just be that it's in black and white, Linda.Brian's body hair was sort of gingerish (as was his facial hair) but it turns up quite dark and thick in non colour. I've enclosed the other picture from the shots and even in a v neck top, Brian's chest hair is quite evident. A swoonable topic for 2009!! :P ;D

I do have the Ed Sullivan shows with the suit and the bandaged hand,dulcimer et al.This ain't no excuse for his actions, but I thought he actually MISSED Anita and hit the wall, hence broken hand. I'm certainly not coming across all 'LARS' ey and saying that Brian was 'a saint who needed just that extra bit of love and was SO hard done to by MickandKeef'...no....he could be a complete bastard at times. However, to sum him up in one sentence as 'not a nice person' is just too plain bloody simple for our 'contradiction in blonde'.Keef once described him as 'a nice bunch of guys' early on just after his death (I think) but nowadays dismisses him as an 'asshole'.Bill seems to sum Brian up best with words along the lines of, 'Brian could be the sweetest,gentlest, most considerate person you could meet, and then turn around and be the nastiest piece of work on earth'. Brian was a complex,sensitive,intelligent and musically gifted, handsome young man.He also suffered from severe depression, paranoia,weak constitution ,possible epilepsy and would have been diagnosed today as being bi polar.If they were alive today and you interviewed both Ian Stewart and Mary Hallet you would get two completely different views of the same person.The one thing that appears to me about Brian is that he was never consistently anything!!!

The stress and brutal strain of being a rock star in the Sixties wasn't any help either. People had almost little or no understanding
of mental problems back then and were quick to label a person crazy if they felt they did not act normal. I suspect Brian suffered from Major Depression and the meds now were not available back then. He would have benefited greatly from the ones they have out today. My meds turned my whole world right side up for me and I am very grateful. Not only did they label you crazy but they made fun of you, laughed at you and called you names. Even if you were handicapped they did the same things. |

My Mother (who passed away in '80) was a manic-depressive, & the drugs they gave her only doped her up so much she couldn't stand up for a long length of time, she had to sit down, so you're very right about the Meds back then. |

I sure do miss some of the wonderful people who used to frequent this thread.....:( I'm glad that Suzy and Olivia and Philip check in with us....but what about Sophia? And our dear Alex? :( I sure do miss them here.....I know Alex is going through so much with her father, but it would be wonderful to hear from her.

Oh, and also thank you for asking about my dad..he is after the irradiation and antibody treatment a bit better ... but now follow further studies whether the tumor can be removed completely or not ...

One of those concert pictures I am thinking of might be a NME one, where it states Anita and Marianne are
somewhere in the audience, maybe to the right somewhere, but I could never see them. And another one shows Marianne, Anita and others jumping with joy because the Stones won the NME award I believe. I may have this mixed up (sorry if I do) but I go back to thinking about those pictures when stage pics are shown and it indicates an award for those performances. ;D :) 8-) |
